We had a last minute private dinner and they were able to get everything together in time and were flexible with different dietary needs, and flexible with what we wanted on the menu. The food was delicious and everyone came out super happy with the food, from a vegan to meat lovers, to kids. We are so appreciative of the the team and Michael who worked with us at every step of the way! The team was super friendly and helped us throughout the whole night. We had such a great time! The quinoa crusted chicken, the cheese burger, the Japanese cucumbers, and the crispy rice onigiri, were AMAZING!

The Cosmopolitan was delicious.The service was superb, although there was a drop too much hovering.The atmosphere was typical New York restaurant. Dark and heavy bass beat. But the music wasnt too loud, so it was bearable.All in all it was lovely and the price was quite reasonable. We were a party of 5, and the bill came to just over $500, including tip and taxes.

Being a block away from my office the fantastic cocktails and highquality food made it perfect.I visited a few weeks back on a Monday and experienced something much different then prior times. I sat at the bar and order the omakase. Opposed to the usual bartender engagement and light banter I was used to, I had the privilege of listening to the bartender and one of the servers talk about how many bud lights they had shotgunned that weekend. Furthermore, the fish was not of high quality. To finish things off I noticed on the check that they are now charging a service charge and giving the opportunity to tip. Previously they were a no tip establishment and this approach feels like poor business practice.

On the positive side, the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice and the vibe was on point. However, the lighting was too dark that it made it difficult to take photos of the food if you wanted.Moving on to the food, while it was nice, I must say that it was not worth the extremely high prices. The quality of the food did not match the exorbitant prices. On the other hand, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, they need to be more attentive to their customers needs as they have a tendency to sweep in and take leftover food without checking if the customer is finished.Overall, I would rate Sen Sekana a 4-star review. The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant were great, and I actually left enjoying the night but the food was average and overpriced. The staff was friendly but not very attentive to customers needs. If you are looking for a trendy spot for drinks with friends, Sen Sekana might be a good option...

Comment: I recently met a reality TV star that told me Sen Sakana is her favorite sushi restaurant in new york city. and so I went there. Food, service, hospitality.... everything was top notch from the hostess, to the wait staff, to the sushi chef. The fish is INCREDIBLY FRESH. The atmosphere is incredible - the sushi bar was one of the most aesthetically pleasing bars Ive ever seen. I got treated like I was very important. I noticed that everyone from the manager, to the waitstaff, all the way up to the owner (who happened to be there the 3 times Ive gone) made sure everyone was taken care of. They didnt miss a beat and made our party feel at home. Friendly staff, but Im happy to say that best of all was the sushi. I wish I took photos. Their Toro was my favorite. And the Hamachi was out of this world. Best Ive had. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Iam asian and Ive eaten sushi EVERYWHERE. This place is a **MUST GO TO***. Thanks again Sen Sakana.

I wish I had better pictures (the dim lighting– which gives the place a super cool vibe–is not conducive to great pictures), but the food was absolutely delicious! The service was also great! After we had reserved this dinner with friends, we told my parents, and, as it turns out, Michael (the manager) is gym buddies with my dad. He was an absolute gentleman, and a fantastic host! I don’t generally eat vegetables at all, but I decided to try the shishito peppers that Michael so generously sent to our party, and I gotta say, they were really good! For my meal, had the spicy salmon sushi and the Prime Aged Vegan “Cheese” Burger, both of which were delicious! The burger was super stuffed, and messy to eat, but worth the mess. The vibe of the place is also super cool, and not your typical kosher restaurant. All 7 of us had a really great time, and immensely enjoyed the food. All in all, an incredible experience! Highly recommended!

It’s walking distance from Bryant Park and their ceviche and sea bass can rival some of the best native Central and South American restaurants. The appetizers are the feast for the senses: you won’t be able to put down your fork (or the chopsticks since it serves both Japanese and Peruvian dishes). The desert is equally enticing and delicious. Definitely deserves a Michelin star award for ingenuity, execution and delivery. Perfection!

We asked them to bring us our starters and then we would order our mains based on how large the starters were but they refused. They wanted us finished with ordering before they would bring any of it to the kitchen.

No water selection, like they have their filtered water but no other option (thats weird, knowing that water is a high profit product). Also they lack a vegan meal. Would be a great place to come chill with friends, but probably not my first choice for a quiet intimate date night.The fusion Nikkei cuisine was creative and with the extensive menu offered it was hard to decide what to order. We ended up trying a good mix of apps and skewers and sushi, all of which were delicious, although the skewers were a little heavy handed on the salt. However, the nigiri sushi really stood out - the quality of the fish was fantastic and really surpassed our expectations. The cocktails that we ordered were also really great - I would recommend the egg cream mocktail in particular.

Jaclyn, our point of contact, did a great job organizing, the staff was wonderful during the event, and the food and drinks were fantastic. We had a sushi chef for the first hour, which was really fun, and people loved it. You may wonder about a sushi restaurant for a baby shower, but it was great - the sushi chef made veggie sushi for me, and there were lots of excellent, pregnancy-safe, cooked food options. Highly recommend for events!

Comment: This restaurant is conveniently located in Midtown. It is Japanese fusion with Peruvian influences. The sashimi and sushi selections here are amazing. The seafood is very fresh. The Maki rolls of combination bowls are not traditional Japanese and have more of a Peruvian twist to it, so flavor profiles are not what I’m used to but they were interesting. Comment: We visited Sen Sakana on a Friday night before a visit to a Broadway show. We had a table in their large “middle section” which was perfect for us. The whole place reeked of classiness. The ambiance and volume were perfect where we were seated. Artem, our waiter, was super helpful and recommended a special for the day Ceviche dish appetizer that had Mussels and Scallops that was really awesome. We had the Charred Edamame which was prepared very differently than what you may be used to in a typical Asian restaurant but it was Sooo flavorful and delicious. Both my wife and I had various Sushi selections and all were delicious. I would be remiss in not mentioning the unique shape of the chopsticks (I know, right) which were somehow much easier to use than usual ones. The wait staff was very attentive and there seemed to be a very high staff to patron ratio and you could feel it. Overall, a really wonderful experience and we will [hopefully] quickly be back for more!!

Don’t get the chocolate tres leche, it’s basically ice cream on top of chocolate brownie.Bottom line: only back for the sushi.

Comment: This place took us by surprise. The place is a fusion but with amazing choice of mix. Do try the house drinks on the back of the menu. We ordered the ceviche and chicken platter dish which was so good. I am definitely coming back.

Comment: This is a wonderful place with some great food. Sat at the sushi bar and had a nice conversation with the Sushi Chef Sang Hyun Lee. Let me tell you folks, he was very friendly and informative. His special roll was outstanding and he suggested some fish that I absolutely loved. I will definitely be returning and looking forward to his next creations.

Comment: Celebrated my birthday dinner with my partner! Everything was amazing from the service to the food. They were very attentive to our needs and were always pleasant when talking to us. We started with appetizers and ordered an entree. The flavors were a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian which attracted us to the venue. When it came time for dessert they plated it with a happy birthday greeting and candle. For the first time in my life did I ever recieve a birthday card from a restaurant. I thought it was a very personal touch and made my night even more special. We will definetely be coming back. Thank you to Sen Sakana for a wonderful experience on my birthday!

Comment: Dropped into Sen Sakana with a friend for cocktails and sushi. Very happy that we did! The drinks were so creative and unique and the sushi was INCREDIBLE. Another high note, our server was extremely knowledgeable and definitely pointed us in the right direction with regard to our choices. Midtown gained a new winner!

Comment: Just opened, but this place is already marvelous. The menu offers many choices - especially tasty small plates - and our server was great at helping us navigate it. The presentation was beautiful and the food outstanding! So many wonderful flavors and textures. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared. Service was included, which was nice. Will definitely go back.

Comment: Went on a Friday afternoon for lunch with a friend - the food was knockout and the staff was extremely attentive. The owner of the restaurant and the executive chef even visited with us. In fact we were so impressed, we made reservations for the next night (Saturday evening) to return with a larger group. Again, food was outstanding (really opened my taste buds to fresh and new ingredient combinations and flavors) and the staff, yet again, was extremely accommodating and truly A+. And, we again had a further opportunity to interact with the owner/chef.I highly recommend this place not only for the food, but the experience as well. Enjoy!

Comment: Nothing like this in Manhattan!! Peruvian / Japanese kitchen putting out amazing platings loaded with flavor.The menu had offerings that we have never seen in the cityand we will be back again.Noticed they have a gorgeous private room and thinking about having our company holiday party here.
