Comment: This ramen spot is a bit small but it has delicious Ramen! I ordered the vegan spicy ramen and it was very flavorful and filling. The spice level was just right. The service is like a cross between regular table service and takeout, you order at the counter or using the website and they bring your order out to your table. I got my food super fast. I think this is by design and it works very well. They have other items on the menu such as curry bowls and even curry-style ramen.

Comment: I have been going to Slurp for years. I live an hour away from Slurp, and it is worth it everytime to drive to the Port Jefferson area. There now tons of great Ramen places on LI, but none compare to this one.My recommendations* Have a Chicken or Pork Bun with every order. The Chicken Bun is INCREDIBLE. Pork Bun is good too but id only get it if you are already ordering a dish with the Karage Fried Chicken* The Karage Chicken Bowl is easily the best item on the menu that isnt ramen. Incredibly filling, well priced. Reheats well. Delicious.* For Ramen, the Slurp Smooth is a soy based broth that tons of people love. Its not my favorite, but I do really love the Slurp Sweet, which is a Teriyaki based broth. It is TO DIE FOR. I also really recommend the Slurp Curry, though it is very denseService is fast, food is excellent. Please eat here.

Comment: I was finally able to make the trip here with a friend and Im so glad i did. I ended up getting the tantan ramen with a side of fried chicken and both were great. My total was around $19 which isnt that cheap, but i felt the portion was fair. Its hard to find a decent bowl of ramen on the island, but this was great. Im excited to come back and try some of the other flavors they offer.

Their chicken karaage bowl is probably one of the best versions of traditional Japanese fried chicken outside of the real thing in Japan. The taste varied slightly, but consistency is on point. It can be really challenging to find something reasonably quick to eat given their divergent eating preferences, but they both love this place and have asked to go back a bunch of times. In particular, they love the eggs and the vegi buns! It may not change your life, but it tastes pretty great and is a fantastic alternative to other quick places.

I took off one star for the young cashier girl with glasses who asked if we would be done eating by 9pm because they close at 9 (we got there at 8:20). I said I wanted to eat there, and she then asked did I want my soup in a to-go container so it would be easier for me to leave lol. So if you want to eat there, please arrive “on time”, and be ready to be pushed out the door by 9pm.

The food comes out quick and is always delicious.I love the rice bowls and different ramen broths; and they even have a secret menu item or two for us OG customers.One thing to think about is they have zero gluten free options. Wheather or not its traditional to offer rice noodles, it would be a great addition to the menu for people who cant eat wheat; because of this, I have to put rice in the broth or just opt for the rice bowl all together when I am fasting from gluten based foods.The other thing are the prices. Now its understandable given its prime location in Port Jeff. I imagine the rent / taxes on the business being high but you get much more food at other ramen places for around the same price or less.Again, I love this place and its literally a 4 minute walk from my house. Ill go here as long as they are there, and I hope they open up more locations!

Comment: I can’t understand anyone giving Slurp a single star. Their food has remained top shelf all through the shutdown. Not to mention the owners are some of the nicest people in the port Jefferson business district. I’ve tried all the entrees. I haven’t found any of them to be salty or greasy. As far as service not being up to par. I haven’t found that to be the case at all. The young people serving you are mostly People that are fairly new to the work force and using a place like slurp for a starting place. It’s the way all these young kids get a start. Slurp you just keep going just as you are for in the majority of reviews here you are amongst the best port has to offer.

The broth is so smooth and rich and the texture of the ramen noodle is incredible; just thinking about it makes me miss it. No wonder it’s always packed full and we always have to wait over 15 minutes to get seats. They also have ramune and other Japanese drinks which is so hard to find on Long Island. We ordered a calamari appetizer that was cooked exactly as it should be with a dipping sauce that was excellent. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you... FAST! The place was packed but we were still able to find a table easily. Crowd seemed like locals... Nice easy going... No drama. Everybody for the most part seemed to be onboard with the whole clean up after yourself mentality... There were bins clearly marked where used utensils and bowls should go... As well as garbage and recycling containers. It was a great lunch... And we will definitely be going back.

I was expecting the curry ramen to be spicy, but it wasnt at all. It was still filled with tons of flavor that made up for it. The Kara-Agé chicken was crispy and very delicious. Location wise, you are right on Port Jeff, so once youre through here, you can walk down the street to cute little shops that overlook the stunning Long Island sound.

It is even a place Ill go way out of the way to grab food just because I have a craving for them. The menu is simple, which makes ordering very easy. Good broth, nice noodles, and the Pork Curry rice was Good too. Pork buns were also good. If youre one of those critics thats going to compare this place to the Ramen Shops in NYC or LA, then dont go here. You place your order at the counter, and they give you a number sign to display at your table, and then they bring your food when its ready. If you order ahead for pickup or plan on dining in, parking can be tough, especially when Port Jeff is busy. There is a small parking lot right outside, but it is almost always full, so you might have to park on the street somewhere nearby. The service was very friendly and impressively fast, and there restaurant was packed with people. For me, it wasnt that much fun. There was no way to eat the food I ordered with the tools I was given. The noodles were way too long and the chicken pieces were way too big, and neither of them could be cut down to an edible size with the side of that spoon. Once I did manage to get something almost bite-sized into the spoon, it would fall out into the bowl, splashing all over my shirt and the table. In addition, I thought it was a little expensive, $14 for a bowl of soup and a cup of soda. Im glad I tried this place, but now I know its not for me.AMENDMENT: I have been back twice and loved it each time. I had a rice bowl that was very tasty and some dough buns (one pork, one chicken) that I loved.

Youll most likely leave very full. Comment: I promised I would review, so here it is! I thoroughly enjoy the food at Slurp. It is absolutely fantastic, and definitely hits the spot when I have a ramen craving. As such, I think it would be more accurate to say that my rating is 4.5/5.Let me start with the positives -- absolutely delicious flavors, and Ive noticed over years that their menu has been getting larger. I visited the shop three days after they first opened, and had only 4 ramen options, along with some rice bowls. Nowadays, I notice they have seasonal specials, which is awesome. Staff is super friendly, and polite, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.Now for the downsides, which often times I just overlook, because theyre relatively minor in my opinion -- the space is rather limited within the restaurant, especially during rush hour. The only other downside for me personally is the portion size. Its a bit small for ramen, but I will wholly admit Ive been spoiled, as I grew up in NYC, and got used to Flushing portions. Overall, though, I love this place, and will continue to return!

Both times we got the slurp classic and both times it was absolutely delicious! I have tried other ramen places on the island in-between and they just dont cut it (unless you want to drive all the way out close to or in the city). Make sure you come close to opening though because its a very small place and lunch rush can be pretty packed so you may not find a seat. However, the tables do turn over pretty quickly so there really isnt even much of a wait if that happens. Staff is also very friendly and attentive. This is our new go-to place when I visit the in-laws!

Comment: This place is delish. It is fast, delish, and affordable. Trifecta. Tried the curry ramen noodle bowl, Hawaiian bbq rice bowl, and the calamari. All delish. I would definitely like to come back and try some other dishes.

Comment: Consistently excellent food. Happy staff who always say hello and goodbye. Clean restaurant and staff never give an attitude when I ask for free tap water. Everything is inexpensive for the quality and quantity given. I recommend Slurp Classic or Smooth. You can ask for different broths or toppings and switch for free. If youre hungry ask for extra noodles in the beginning.

Comment: I have been to slurp ramen many times and every time that I have gone, I have thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Most of the time I order the Slurp Smooth which is about $10. The portion sizes are decent and I am always full after eating here. The food itself I think is delicious, not too salty. The service here is exceptional, the owner of this restaurant is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He goes out of his way to make his customers happy. Overall, this is definitely the best ramen place in the area!

Comment: Having lived in Japan, and travelled to some of Japans most famous ramen destinations (hakata, Wakayama, etc.) I have high expectations when it comes to ramen. Slurp Ramen fully delivers. Classic tonkotsu broth and perfect noodle thickness with the right level of texture. The interior reminds me of many local ma and pa ramen shops Ive been to in Japan. This is a quintessential Japanese neighborhood ramen shop; good food, good prices, good service - but lucky for us, its been imported to the states.

Comment: Came here having heard mixed reviews about this place, and wasnt sure what to expect. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food came out quickly, and there was an area for you to turn in plates once finished. It reminded me of service in a Panera, so its primarily a place for a quick meal. The Ramen itself was good, though nothing close to a place like Toto in NYC. Having said that it was definitely the best Ramen i have encountered in Long Island, the broth was very flavorful and meat was tender. I was surprised that the noodles were so thin, but it didnt matter to me since the taste and texture were good. Great place to eat so long as you want a quick meal, though there is not much seating so try to beat the crowds.

Comment: So I must say Im spoiled. My first true Ramen experience was at Ippudo Manhattan. After having experienced that Ramen, everything is compared. Slurp does a very good job of creating a cool atmosphere with good food to boot. I tried the spicy Ramen and the flavors were good, but not excellent. I felt that there should have been more broth in the bowl and more heat. I also tried the pork bun, which was excellent. Overall I was very satisfied with the meal and will be back when Im in the area.

Comment: Best Ramen I have ever had, period. The food is authentic, delicious, and well priced. I work in the village and am so glad to have Slurp around the corner. I have eaten a variety of dishes all of which were excellent. There is plenty of seating inside and the place is clean. The service is surprisingly fast and pleasant, which is refreshing! Do yourself a favor and stop in if you havent already, and if you have, you dont need me to tell you since youre probably planning your next trip in!

There was so much flavor in the broth and when we are finished-we wanted more. Comment: Fun atmosphere; fast and polite service. So far Ive had the Slurp Smooth with fried chicken, Slurp Spicy and the Pork Buns. Each one was delicious and I would definitely order them again. The bowls are packed with toppings and the ramen noodles are very filling. Looking forward to the Rice Bowls!!
