Comment: We had hibachi, and it was an amazing experience. The only issue we came across was that as soon as the food was prepared and all set, a guy came over trying to pack all the food in to go boxes before we had a chance to even start eating. Other than that small thing, the rest was fantastic.

Comment: It is a great restaurant for an outing with family or friends. We tried out the hibachi and had a really wonderful time with the show. The chef was funny, delightful, and a generally great guy! For him, this completes 5 stars. Personally I would recommend that you visit around the week when there are fewer people because at weekends there can be quite a rush. The food was definitely worth the price (although a bit more on the expensive side) and everything was clean if a bit empty, since most of the place is dark colored the enviorment wasnt my favorite however this was a really good experience and I am currently making plans to return! Really enjoyed it!

I got the fantastic roll for a change but I normally get the dynamite roll which I love. Still good sushi, the only thing thats a bit lacking is the service. Everytime we go we get a super friendly welcome but the waitresses are a bit standoffish.

Comment: This place is the best quality and value with both their sushi and their hibachi prices. I have been here at least a dozen times over the past five years, and have never had anything resembling a negative experience. The only downside I can think of is that it can be loud in the hibachi dining room (the tables where they cook in front of you), so if youre going to have a conversation, i recommend sitting in the normal dining room. Also, many of the times i have asked to sit at the sushi bar, they have made a small spicy kani salad for us on the house. Lunch special runs mon-sat 1130-330. You can get three sushi rolls, miso soup, and salad for $10.85.

The hibachi chef is an artist and takes cooking to another level. It was extrodianary some of the moves he would do with the utensils and food. The sushi I ordered on the side was great as well. Would recommend anyone to try this dining experience out.

Comment: Fantastic Japanese restaurant right on the main shopping strip. The table service and regular seating is solid. Private rooms with curtained seating are available. The real gem of the restaurant are the hibachi tables and the chefs. Food prepared in front of your eyes with a fiery showmanship not to be missed. A special birthday cake surprise for those in your party whose day youre celebrating. The staff and management are very attentive and make every effort to make you comfortable. The sushi and sashimi are first rate. A fully stocked bar will also smooth out the evening. Takeout and lunch are available! Dont miss this secret treasure of a dining experience!

And while the outside is kind of bland, once you go inside its like another world. Beautiful interior, nice staff, fun selection of food and drinks. I recommend the melon soda.

A must try appetizer is Tuna Dumpling - spice snow crab inside covered with honey wasabi sauce. But if you want something other than sushi or sashimi, hibachi is always a great alternative.

Comment: Weve eaten here twice now, and will definitely be back for more. Once was in the normal dining side, the 2nd visit was for one of the hibachi tables. Even though we had reservations, we still ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes, but I expect they will get better at gauging times as they get used to their success. Food was top notch, and the entertainment by the cooks was first rate. Ive eaten at both places in Syracuse, and Sumo trumps them in terms of quality of food and entertainment value.
