Best sushi I have had in Queens, has the home made touch to it and chef special tested amazing. 100% recommend to anyone who wants good sushi, I have been looking for a good sushi spot since my time living in Japan and Sushi Akio did not disappoint. Definitely try them out, staff is friendly and amazing as well. Its a hidden gem in the wall.

Comment: A bit off the beaten path, but was recommended by a family friend. The place has an Omakase that came with 18 pieces and hand roll. The quality was on par with many of the places Ive been to in Manhattan. The restaurant is run by a couple and at times do to the volume of take out the process was a bit slow so recommend on a night when you dont have to be anywhere. I will definitely be back.

Comment: Always delicious, not too pricey, usually pretty quick, everyone is super nice, but they don’t do their own deliveries, that’s all through apps like Postmates or Ubereats where a third party chooses to pick up your food, so I’m not sure how or why people are complaining about delivery when that’s not the restaurant’s fault

Comment: This is my favorite sushi in forest Hills. It’s super tiny, but the sushi is fresh & the service is always pleasant. I usually get basic rolls like spicy tuna, spicy shrimp roll & the Yellowstone roll. So good! I’ve also made sure to try every special roll, and it’s always delicious. Order anything on the menu it won’t disappoint.

Comment: Ive been to this sushi restaurant often with my brother and the sushi chef is such a delight to have a conversation with. He always answers questions regarding the food as best as he can, recommends different combinations of sushi when the custom is indecisive, and prepares the sushi so well. Id recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone in the area. If you havent tried the sushi here, then you dont know what you are missing. This has to have been some of the most delicious sushi Ive ever had.

Had two tables and the sushi bar. Not made for large parties. Highly recommend trying the appetizers. They have some very unique options.

Comment: 3rd update!In my last update, I found a bone in my sushi. Since then, its been a couple months to a year. I havent found another bone since and the sushi has gotten better. Theyre more uniform in terms of size and less mushy than they were before. Its not mind blowing sushi, but its average. Its good. Basically, its one of those places that could easily become a weekly or bi-weekly food spot for you if you lived or worked nearby.

Comment: This is a dine in review, I cannot speak to delivery.Folks, this is not a Michelin rated restaurant, staff and chef are not Japanese, decor is tantamount to a dive bar, your cloths WILL smell like oil (bad ventilation) but people of Forest Hills Queens (yes you) if youve never been to this place, then shame on you!Check out my pics, this is my 3rd time here in 2 months, Ive recommended this place to like minded discerning Sushi lover and have gotten approval. So heres my rating. 1-10, 1 being really bad.Price: 8 - $30/$40/$50 for a 10/15/20 piece Omakase is unheard ofFood: 7.5 is it better than my trip to Japan, no, is it better than the best places in NYC? No. Is it close? Damn straight, yes! and its DIFFERENT, some cool things going on here folks.Service: 7 Small staff, can be slow at times with chef making take out and all. At the end of the night, had a chat with the host, she was delightful and courteous.Decor: 5 - its not the best, I get it, your cloths WILL SMELL LIKE OIL, so dress appropriately.I will go back in a heartbeat, in fact very soon, by myself even since they recognize me now...Its BYOB with beer access across the street and wine shop to the left, a short block away.
