Comment: My daughter and I are always looking for a good sushi place. This is definitely one.It was an impromptu lunch so we ran a Google search and thought we would stop in. It is reasonably priced and comprable to other sushi restaurants in the area.We had the tuna avocado mango salad appetizer. It was fantastic, very smooth. She got the sandwich roll, which actually looks like little sandwiches, and the dynamite roll. She loved both. I got the sushi-ya #2 and it was fabulous, very well-balanced in flavor.We will definitely go back for lunch soon. 👍👍AdditionIm reducing my stars from 5 to 4 due to the following:Im adding this edit because we ordered in one night and the sushi was horrible. Really, really horrible. It seemed 2 days old. It smelled wrong, it felt wrong, it tasted wrong.Maybe its just the deliveries that suck because in the restaurant was very good.

Comment: I have been to sushi ya and number of times. Its a bit small but never the less fairly comfortable seating. The staff is friendly. The food is good, some items are made a little different from how they are prepared at other restaraunts I have dined in. An example was one of my favorite dishes, Kani salad. I am not sure what the addition was, it seemed to be something a bit dry. I did not recognize the flavor of this addition. The flavor of the Kani salad was somewhat diminished, in my opinion. The prices were maybe a bit higher than what I find elsewhere. All in all in all, I would recommend it for an enjoyable dinner. The restsaurant is in Rockville Centre, with at least 2 large parking lots nearby.

Comment: Been going to this place over 20 years, when it was at its smaller location, and they still continue to surprise me. Great service, amazing food with a classy setting. Small traditional Japanese beer menu, great fried ice cream, the best collection of rolls, and the best miso soup I have ever been able to find.
