Comment: 2 of us went in for dinner on a friday night early. we were seated right away, the service was prompt, and everyone was very kind. we ordered a beer and the ramen/sushi dinner special. a small salad came out to start and then we got the vegetable ramen / special sushi, and the pork ramen / spicy tuna roll. everything was fresh and tasty. not the best ramen in the world but the prices were more than fair and we spent about $50 for the both of us which feels like a steal. they brought complimentary green tea to end the meal which was a nice touch. its a great low key spot to have in the neighborhood for sushi thats walking distance off the dutch kills and 36th st stop.

Comment: Authentic sushi spot with great service and reasonable prices! The staff were super nice and accommodating of our newborn stroller and helped us find a good seat as fast as they could. We ordered the chirashi omakase (which has more premium fish than the normal omakase), ankimo, potato salad, and kamikaze roll. All very delicious and fresh! Also the green tea ice cream might be one of the best I’ve ever had. It tastes homemade!

Comment: I was Brought here by my Japanese good friends. I always trust them for the best food locations. And never the less Suzuki Shokudo is 5/5 stars. Very fresh and authentic sushi. Melts in your mouth.And very nice location. Feels very welcoming and home like feel.Sitting at the counter bar is always my favorite and feels more authentic. Love this place. Will be back soon. Comment: Update: 5 stars! Returned here for dinner and loved every bit. Everything was very fresh and the omakase was worth it.—Went here for dinner on a late Wednesday night. No wait, but resto was pretty full. We had the gyoza, grilled octopus, salad, and miso soup to start. Then the dragon roll and the ramen sushi combo. The sushi was good, preferred it over the ramen. Wed probably go with the all sushi entree option next time. The combo was a reasonable price for dinner ($14.75), but I see myself enjoying this place way more as a lunch spot. Try it out. I dont think its out of this world, but a convenient and reasonably priced spot for LIC folks.

Comment: Let me start by saying that Im a big fan of Japanese food and Japanese culture in general.With that being said, the food that this restaurant puts out is as authentic as it gets on this side of the globe.Although their menu is not as big as Id want, you can really feel how much love they have put in each dish they serve.The owners are nice, accommodating and friendly.I highly recommend the special lunch/dinner box if you are looking for a filling meal.The ramen broth isnt my favorite but is decent enough. It is quite mild and I suggest ordering some crushed garlic to add a punch to it.

Comment: The lunch sets are amazing! you can get ramen and sushi for $22. you get to choose the protein of your ramen which was very unique to me (seared tuna, salmon, pork, etc.). i loved the coziness and vibes of the place. the staff are so kind and it gives such a sense of peace similar to dining in japan. I would definitely come back! the sushi was very delicious and the fish was high quality.

Will be coming back to try out their Omakase in the near future. Almost forgot, service was great!11/28 Update - tried the ramen today and it was good, its not the thick creamy broth youd find at ippudo but I might just prefer it like this. Theyve updated their menus and prices have gone up 10% but Ill still be coming. I tried their Omakase in a prior visit and it was good, very classic style for $60.

This place is in a corner storefront, next to an auto body shop, under an elevated N train track in a part of Queens that I grew up knowing only as an industrial hub. Dishes are designed with care and the wait staff is usually quite helpful when it comes to pairing particular kinds of sake, shochu or wine with your order. I mean, the freshest fish and vegetables one could imagine, a fried chicken appetizer that always tastes clean and never greasy and even the garnishes are arranged with care. Look at what the chest did for my sons birthday with that fruit platter and the bear shaped orange peel! Im no chef, I just like to eat the food so Im giving this chef a diners kiss: mwah!

Comment: I just flew in for work and was walking around looking for somewhere to eat.Suzuki Shokudo was busy and always a sign.The salad given at the start is fresh, crispy, and fabulous ginger dressing.Ordered the ramen and sushi, what a fantastic combination.Sushi 🍣 was fresh and fabulous cleaned my pallet with the pickled ginger slices and onto the Ramen.The ramen 🍜 was hot tasty, and before I knew it, it was all gone.It is highly recommended.

This gives of a warm feeling of home.Dining while trains rattle by outside complete a Japanese diner aesthetic.The sushi is great. The ramen is probably the only ramen Ive ever had with seared sashimi as an option over seared pork.The whole ramen and sushi set is less than just a bowl of ramen in many places in the city.Happy hour gets you two fried chicken drumsticks with a drink order. And the fried chicken is great.To make it all better everything is served politely and enthusiastically. What a great find.

Friends from Astoria now have to come over here for it too. Thought about finding sushi in Manhattan after the Guggenheim last weekend but decided to drive back home and go to this trusted spot because we knew we’d be happy. : )
