Comment: The taiyaki is ofc freshly and delicious. The smell hits you as soon as you walk in and it feels like a hug, its so nice. The soft serve is also fantastic and its really the perfect amount of ice cream that they put on top. The custard filling is great, have to try red bean next. Even the wafer stick they put in the ice cream is hella crisp and unexpectedly good!

We arrived to absolutely no parking so we took turns to enter and order.Small shop, just enough room for you to order and wait, then head on your way. I admitted to the young lady that this was my first time. She suggested their popular Unicorn, she said everyone gets it mainly for the looks/pictures. However, if I wanted something a little bolder she suggested the Straight Out Of Japan.I went with the Straight Out Of Japan: Matcha (green tea) & Hojicha (roasted matcha) ice cream w/ Red Bean Taiyaki cone.Think Brownie or Pie à la mode... a scoop of ice cream on a hot slice of pie or brownie. Its the best way to describe the combination of a warm pastry with ice cream. Now make it handheld and that is Taiyaki.A warm waffle like shaped fish cone called Taiyaki. They fill the mouth of the fish pastry with a swirl of soft serve, flavors predetermined or of your choice.The pastry itself can also be filled with custard or red bean, and then they top your treat with more treats like colorful sprinkles or mochi, for the picture perfect finish.I enjoyed the Straight Out Of Japan. The Matcha (green tea) & Hojicha (roasted matcha) ice cream was a nice combo and not too over powering. The Taiyaki cone was soft and not too sweet. However, I didnt finish the whole cone, by the time I reached the Red Bean, it became a little too much and my sweet tooth was satisfied.We arrived at the perfect time because on a nice Friday night as soon as we order and got back in the car the line instantly was out the door.Nice treat worth checking out especially if you have never tried it.Just A Note:They sell Mochi Donuts.

Comment: I loved the ice cream, it was delicious and not too sweet. The freshly made waffle cone was literally a fluffy waffle and I really enjoyed that. However, I am taking a star off because the store was quite dirty. It looked like the floor hadn’t been mopped in a while and the trash outside was overflowing. The order iPad was also out of service. Could use some tlc. Fully wheelchair accessible but nowhere to sit and enjoy your ice cream.

Comment: So my husband found this place and we up and went. I got the hojicha icecream in a bear (no filling) which was a good size, not too sweet, soft in the middle and a cookie monster donut. He ordered a matcha better, the bean filling is nice and smooth and the icecream was creamy, the rainbow mochi wasnt sweet at all which was delightful. He also asked for a churro donut but he was given a chocolate heaven donut instead. Other than that everything was yummy, the donuts nice and fluffy cant wait to go back next time and try something else since they was about to close and had limited things left.

Comment: Soft serve ice cream with your choice of toppings on a fish-shaped taiyaki. I wouldnt say that this is something that wowed me but I really like the concept of it. Place is small and has a minimalistic feel to it, no where to actually sit and enjoy your dessert unless you prefer to stand by the counter. The ice cream will melt pretty fast so I advise that you have napkins with you or eat the ice cream before it melts all over your hands. Staff was polite and gave no issues at all. Overall, I dont think this is something I would be overly excited about but I do highly recommend this place to anyone that likes ice cream and taiyaki.

Comment: How can you NOT love combining refreshing soft serve with fluffy hot Taiyaki? As a photographer, you also cant beat how Instagram friendly it looks, so cute!Only complaint that I dont really know how to fix is how VERY VERY quick your soft serve will melt against the hot and fresh Taiyaki. I liked that being hot so you just have to EAT QUICK!The matcha milk drink was also great, though dont sip before shaking it up like I did - SO BITER I thought I hated it. It does look pretty but much better once shaken up with the milk :)

Comment: This is the first time that we have tried taiyaki ice cream. I had matcha hajicha flavor (in the pic shows), my boy had chocolate, and my hubby had matcha. Three flavors of ice creams that we had were delicious. Fish shape taiyaki under the ice cream was warm and it had red bean paste filled in. They all just taste so good and yummy. Ice creams are not so sweet, taiyakis are kinda crispy, red bean paste is kinda sweet for me, because I eat pretty light every day. Overall, we all like it and definitely come back for taiyaki ice creams again.

Comment: Have heard so much about this place, we had to go and check it out. We got there at 1 pm on a Saturday, and there was only 1 other person in front of us. We ordered the Straight Outta Japan Ice cream and the Classic Soufflé Pancakes. They told us we had to wait 30 min for the pancakes which was a bit inconvenient but it was fine. Unfortunately they don’t have indoor seating/tables just a floating ledge against the wall where we ate the pancakes standing. The ice cream was delicious! The fish taiyaki had a bit of red bean at the bottom which was so yummm. The soufflé pancakes were beautiful, nice and fluffy, soft and cloud-like! A great place to check out!

But somehow we found ourselves inside ordering a Unicorn Taiyaki and a plain iced unsweetened Matcha.I am not really into sprinkles and I was too stuffed to order anything of my own. So I just sampled the Unicorn Taiyaki that my friend ordered. The actual Taiyaki cone was super fresh and delicious. The red bean filling was perfect. Next time around, Id get the Straight Outta Japan flavor. The Matcha and Sesame combo, Im sure would have been amazing with the cone and red bean filling.The iced Matcha was good but a little too watered down for my taste. Id get it with less water next time around. Flavor was good though.And the pancakes and mochi donuts are on my list for next time, when I havent eaten a huge brunch beforehand!Prices were reasonable.Service was good.

Comment: Went on a Tuesday evening and there wasnt much of a line. Got the matcha hojicha ice cream in a custard cone. Flavors were great -- very strong matcha and hojicha flavors. Custard cone was crispy and delicious and I also loved the red bean at the bottom. I dont like super sweet desserts and found the sweetness to be perfect. My only complaint is that it was slightly pricy though for what it was at $8 each.

I never feel bloated after getting a cone from here and they also have dairy free options. They recently started serving mochi donuts which is an interesting take on a regular donut that’s worth trying. The taste never gets old and is a trusted place for when I’m having a sweet tooth.

It took a while to make each Taiyaki, which was to be expected. Theres a lot of care that seems to go into the process. Prices were reasonable as well. Comment: Always have a great experience with Taiyaki NYC no matter which location it is, Chinatown or Williamsburg! Staff is always friendly and the quality of ice cream never disappoints. My absolute favorite at the Williamsburg location is the Matcha ice cream on top of a perfectly cooked fish shaped waffle cone. The ice cream is rich in flavor and perfectly creamy but not too heavy. They have a variety of drizzles and toppings to chose from as well. The dessert is really filling so you get every pennys worth! I personally dislike to share because Im greedy and want to eat the whole thing by myself. But overall, really satisfying experience and will highly recommend to anyone around the area!
