Comment: Great food and David the chef was the best hibachi chef Ive ever seen. Highly entertaining and didnt use too much of the played out hibachi chef gimmick. Even had one of the kids take over and flip eggs and fling veggies into our mouths. Highly entertaining! Food was all cooked perfectly and sushi was good. Filet mignon hibachi was cooked perfectly as ordered. Fried rice could use a bit more in ingredients as it was slightly plain. Pour a little yum yum sauce on it and that stuff is magic. Will definitely be returning! Every time we come back its still great!

Comment: We had a a fantastic dinner at Takumi. We had the eggplant fries, wagu meatballs, spicy tuna ragoon and pork gyoza for appetizers. Everything was delicious! For Entrees we had an array of Sashimi and rolls. Our overall experience was great! They really brought the Fusion in Asian Fusion. Definitely recommend, and dont be afraid of some of the odd combination they really do work!!Update ** would like Id their booths werent so far away from the table that you cant sit comfortably. Food was amazing again!

Comment: Super fast service. We showed up about 20 minutes before our reservation and were seated right away. Food was quickly brought out and we were delighted with both of our meals (I chose the bento box with shrimp and scallops and my 8 year old son had Yaki Udon noodles. We shared shrimp tempura rolls as well). Overall, I would highly recommend. My son also said he wants to go again 😄. Im happy to have him request real food instead of pizza or fast food

Comment: My friends and I went here to try it out since we havent tried it out. Unfortunately I dont have pictures of the appetizers but they were good. My friends got special rolls and I ordered the Salmon Bento Box just to have a little of everything to get a little bit of everything. The teriyaki was good and the egg rolls were very crispy. The salad was very refreshing and the fruit was a nice finish to the meal. Service was good with people coming to refill drinks often. Id say a 4/5 is an honest opinion for now and I would go again to get a better idea since they also have Hibachi and a bar.

Hibachi and sushi... and while the hibachi guy sounded like he was just yelling nonsense it was entertaining even though I wasnt even at that table. Our service at the bar was great and attentive. Comment: Ive ordered takeout from here before but this was my first time dining in. very beautiful interior. it was quite busy, and even though my party had a reservation, there was a wait. the staff was very pleasant, and the food was delicious. we were given an appetizer on the house for the wait. much appreciated! will be returning.Edit to add about a second visit!! I made a reservation using the tool on google maps and when I arrived we were swiftly seated and helped (this time for normal dine in, not hibachi). We ordered an appetizer and 3 sushi rolls and they were amazing! And for a very fair price!!!

Comment: Fun place to go with family or friends. I would highly recommend this place for celebration. The food is delicious, the service is good. The hibachi cook was fun and serve sake for the adults from the cooking counter. It’s fun to watch the person cook and serve you sake from the cooking counter to your seat.Side note: adults, be mindful else you would get drunk. The cooks are mindful and they don’t want the kids to be missing out on fun. They serve water for kids the same way they serve sake for adults. Kids love this place and if you have birthday, they offer some goodies too.

Portion’s are great for sharing with a group.I ordered take out to try this spot out after finding it on Yelp and google maps for food nearby the area and was surprised with the good food quality! They give big pieces of fish for the chirashi/poke bowls/hand roll, good flavor and overall quality was great.Top items to get:- yaki udon noodles (stir fried with some veggies and good flavor)- poke bowl, with salmon and green tea soba- chirashi lunch, big pieces of sashimi- lunch special bento boxes, yummy sidesAverage items (can try it if you’re looking for more food):- Tonkotsu black ramen, pork chasu and soft boiled eggs are good but soup base was just ok and salty- soft shell crab tempura, just average- hibachi scallops- salmon avocado hand rollItems to avoid:- shooting stars- sushi bomb (not worth the price, get 3 rolls lunch for more pieces)- pork gyoza- shrimp tempura appetizer (got soggy in the box)- chicken yakitori (skewers, just ok and skippable)- rock shrimp tempura (not crispy)Wait time is about 40-45 minutes after you place the order, first time orders can get 15% off if you use their website.

Comment: I eat sushi more often than id like to admit. Good sushi too. This place compares to above average manhattan sushi joints. Not high-end, but above average. For the price you are paying, you are getting a good deal on most of the sushi, and chef omakase or tasting menu.On our recent trip, I ordered the $50 omakase, while my my brother and sister in law ordered the $75 chef special. How they differed, we were not sure. Later we found out that we were both to get a variety of dishes all of which were rather outstanding. Unfortunately, my $50 entree came with a rather boring close of 3 salmon, 3 tuna, and 3 scallop sashimis. However my brother and sister in law received a true omakase tasting featuring approximately 10 sushi all of the better higher-end cuts, along with a special roll.Ive learned my lesson and will not cheap out here and will order the $75 omakase. If youre not as hungry, they $50 will do, just know that you will be getting more sashimi than sushi, and the cuts will be your basic run of the mill. The $75 omakase is where things shine from start to finish.

Comment: This was the best family dinner weve ever had! Went here with 2 young children (3 and 6). Clean restaurant, modern decor, entire staff wearing masks, each party had their own hibachi table. Wait staff very attentive and considerate towards the 6 and 3 year old. Hibachi chef, Johnny, was very entertaining. Johnny even had tricks wed never seen at the many other hibachi restaurants weve been to (fire around the table!). It was our 3 year olds birthday and he got free ice cream, balloons and light up crown and bracelets! Our 6 year old was very jealous and the assistant manager, Chris, seeing this came by to bring a second light up bracelet. Food was delicious, filet mignon cooked to perfection. Try the popcorn chicken!

Comment: Wow, I didnt even know this place was here!! Between the outstanding food and the overall atmosphere, I was so impressed. This place has some of the best sushi rolls Ive ever had.Located in the Bay Shore Mall, its right next to The Cheesecake Factory. I wasnt even aware that this place was here. After a friend suggested that we go and try, I was so excited. Theres plenty of parking in the mall parking lot. Inside, the restaurant is GORGEOUS. Theres a huge bar, a very large and lively hibachi area, and a regular dining area. I was able to make a reservation by calling and I was seated immediately upon entering.The prices are very comparable to every other local sushi restaurant.The service was on the slower side but I was able to get everything I needed. The food came out at a good pace. I never felt rushed. Hot towels upon arrival to the table were a nice touch.The drinks were awesome! There are tons and tons of alcoholic beverage choices, there’s an extensive menu. I ended up getting a few Sake-Tini’s which were fabulous!The food was soooooo delicious! The plating presentation for each dish was gorgeous. I will be reviewing what I tried:-Amazing Tuna Roll: Like its name, it was truly amazing, and such fresh fish! The tuna was so good!!! I love everything about this roll! 5 out of 5 stars-Gyoza App: Perfectly cooked, great for sharing between 1-2 people. 5 out of 5 stars-Spicy Crabmeat Crusted Filet Mignon: For $28, this entree was a steal!! Comes with soup or salad (I chose miso which was delish), and rice. The filet Mignon was cooked to an ever so perfect med rare! It also came with sweet potato purée tempura and super fresh, perfectly seasoned veggies in a butter soy sauce. I 100% recommend this dish!! 5 out of 5 starsOverall, my first trip to Takumi was a great one! I can’t wait to come back. I fully intend on doing the Omakase dining option next time!
