Comment: Had a great experience at Tampopo. Staff was super friendly. We had the chicken and pork Bao Buns and Purple sweet potato Tempura fries. The fries werent that sweet, but went very well with the curry mayo dipping sauce. Buns were spot on. Perfectly soft with amazing combo of sauces. For main I ordered the Ginger Beef Ramen. I highly recommend adding the spicy chili oil if you want to kick the Flavor up a notch. It was truly perfection

It’s never let me down.This is a smaller location so on busier days you could wait a bit longer for a table. Good thing they offer delivery or pick up. Comment: I saw this restaurant on Instagram and it lived up to its popularity. This is my first time trying authentic ramen and I am very happy and satisfied. I called in the order over the phone. I walked into the restaurant which is quite small but oh so clean, cozy, organized and decorated very nicely. I was greeted with a smile and was told to give her a second. My food was ready and when I got home it was still hot. The soup came in different packaging from the ramen and I liked the fact that I had to pour it in. The packaging was perfectly sealed and nothing spilled. The taste was amazing and I must say I’m definitely coming back!

Tampopo has a wonderful lunch special which we have enjoyed since well before covid and used to love sitting at the bar inside. Nowadays they have added a nice outdoor dining setup which we have enjoyed for over a year, and the added bonus is that the outdoor setup is dog friendly so Bear can come to lunch with us. My favorite lunch combo is the gyoza, and the sides it comes with are absolutely delicious. You can get a discounted soft drink as part of the lunch deal too which is always good. Perfect portion and variety for lunch! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Theres no place like it in the neighborhood and I highly recommend!

Comment: Been here about a dozen times in my 2 years living in the neighborhood and Im glad to have a good ramen spot in the area. Tampopos paitan chicken-based broth is full of umami and both the shoyu and miso ramen are delicious. Their toppings are great as well (especially the kikurage mushrooms), and they dont skimp on them. Tampopos homemade noodles are the thin type - I usually prefer thicker noodles in ramen - but these are delicious with great texture. The Hi-Chew is always appreciated as well :) However, the main negative for me is their pork, which is more of a chewy-ish thin sliced pork with a somewhat distinct & slightly off-putting flavor than the fatty, softer chashu you usually get with ramen. Tampopo would be 4.5* for me if the pork were improved!

Comment: I went to Tampopo Ramen for lunch around 1:30, and the restaurant was steady busy up to the time I left, which reflects how amazing the food is. Everything tasted so delicious and fresh! The Shio classic ramen is flavored perfectly. It doesnt have that overly salty or heavy taste that ramen from many other ramen restaurants have. The taste is light and fresh. The owner told me that the noodles are made in house daily, which explains the freshness of the whole dish! Another difference is that this place uses Japanese Paitan chicken broth, instead of Tonkotsu pork broth. The okonomiyaki was also incredible. It was cooked to perfection and topped with fresh flavors of scallions, pickled ginger, and the two sauces. Surprisingly, the homemade ginger ale on their menu is hands down one of the best, most refreshing drinks Ive had in a while! I love ginger and could really taste the fresh ginger in this drink, which was so satisfying.😊 The great service was the neat ribbon on top of this dining experience. I have no criticism. Its definitely worth the journey up to Washington Heights!☺

Comment: I was actually going to a near by juice bar when I parked across from this Japanese Restaurant. Lucky for me and the neighborhood. Disclosure didnt have the ramen because I wanted something light since I was going to be on the road (next time I will). I started with the pork pan fried gyoza that was prepared in front of me. That was a touch and the tastes was even nicer; very fresh, light with subtle seasonings. Then the Kaarage Fried Chicken lunch really good too. Again very soft fluffy chicken batter with just enough seasonings. That lunch special meal came with good small side miso & seaweed salad and of course the sticky rice. I wish I wasnt working later so I could have tried the sake but the can of the Furnam Hill apple cider was good too.

Comment: Tiny place! Hard to get a table, you have to settle for the bar.Very creamy broth, not salty water like most other place, the service was pretty nice. I did especially enjoy the noodles, I will be coming back.Although, the boiled egg seemed like it was soaked in there for too long, the outter egg white was brown to the color of the broth immediately upon receiving my Shoyu Ramen.My boyfriend had the spicy miso ramen, the last image.

Comment: Very tasty ramen and friendly staff. The dumplings werent incredible, but everything looked delicious. Cozy atmosphere, but it can get a little cramped during peak hours. Overall, great experience and Ill be sure to come back.

Comment: This is a nice, intimate place with great service. I didnt love the taste of the ramen but I think thats my personal aversion to a strong mushroom flavor

Comment: Food was very good. Beautifully plated. Place is very cozy, staff/ service were good. Max our server was knowledgeable of menu and able to give suggestions.

Comment: Best ramen I’ve had so far. The dining area is tiny but the food makes up for it! Try the Enter the Dragon (if you’re daring enough) or Spicy Miso. Thank me later!
