Comment: Tara is a hidden gem on northern blvd just before Long Island. This middle ground is usually where all the residents of Long Island and Flushing can meet up for the best omakase experience of their life. Not only is all their fish imported from Japan overnight but they never fail to impress me with their innovative plating. Of course, this place is a drinking area perfect for after work but it crosses with fine dining and and a comfortable atmosphere. The head chef, Oscar is a sushi genius, if you will, always coming up with the prettiest way to appreciate good fish. Don’t forget to ask for their special menu or try the omakase.

Comment: Wow! Just wow!! If you are looking for a delicious Sushi meal! This is the place to come. There is a sushi bar too!!!Its a bit on the pricer side, but for the quality, its well worth it. This is not the every day sushi place down the street.My daughter wants to come back here for her 13th birthday. My husband and I want to come for the Omakase.Cant wait to come back!

Comment: Tara sushi is HANDS DOWN the best Japanese restaurant in the Bayside Littleneck area. Quite possibly even the BEST in QUEENS.Every time I visit this restaurant, it amazes me more and more. Jimmy, and Ben truly know how to take care of their clients. And they make sure to go above and beyond the call of service to make each patrons meal a special experience.My meal started off with the tako wasa, a delicious Wasabi infused raw octopus served in a seaweed wrap. A great palate cleanser and a great way to start off your meal. Next to touch my tastebuds was their chowanmushi, seved in an egg shell and stuffed with the steamed egg, ikura and uni.... I could have eaten a dozen. The egg was silkynand light and the seafood saltiness from the caviar and uni tantalize my tastebuds as they were left craving for more. Next, out table shared the tuna tataki. Seared to perfection this small bite didnt disappoint. I loved the shrimp chips and the garnishes that made this dish complete.Our next dishes to come, came from the kitchen.... gyozas and some fried tofu. While the gyozas were delicious.... the Tofu was phenomenal! Light and crispy on the outside.... Hot and silky on the inside. The perfect little bite that our table didnt want to end.Finally, I finished off my meal with a sushi platter for 1, and a few specialty rolls for the table to share. And you can tell just from the pictures how incredible everything is. It tastes even better than it looks.Not pictured was their signature yuzu ikura sushi.... only because I ate it too quickly to photograph it. Lol. Which is proof enough to how incredible this restaurant is.Thank you again Jimmy and Ben for an amazing evening out. Cant wait to come back!

Comment: 2021.12 revisit. Company dinner. Omakase. This time I would say the omakase is reasonable price. I took the 88 dollar one. The 118 has 4 more sushi. Owner Jimmy is really nice and friendly.2020.02 a little pricey. Fresh fish. Taste above average. But not too many choice. Nice decoration on sushi, but smaller than normal size. Comfortable. Good wine list

Comment: Pleasantly surprised! We tried the $48 happy hour omakase ($48!) and found the quality of the fish to be excellent. Favorites were the sea bream, chutoro and totoro, of course. The fish was silky, creamy and fresh! The scallop was delicious too but the yuzu jelly was a bit overpowering. Props to them for creativity there though. The uni flight (California, Hokkaido, Maine) was also excellent of you love uni. The monkfish appetizer was also really fun with the sauce served in a little squeezable infuser tube.Though the food was amazing, the service was even better. The owner (I think?) was warm and welcoming and even had a special light ready for people who wanted to take photos of their food. The other servers were very kind and attentive as well. Def. recommend this place, especially during happy hour.

Comment: Excellent Omakase meal (means chef tasting menu). Came here on Valentines Day so they only had their dinner for two special otherwise their Omakase meals. The regular menu was not offered but there is one available usually. Fresh sushi offerings like Santa Barbara Uni, King Salmon, Wagyu, and Scallops. More delectable appetizers (think volcano baked scallops, tuna and salmon salad, and Stella Bay oysters). They have an excellent clam soup. Must try for the dining experience.
