Comment: We stumbled upon this Japanese restaurant on Saturday night, as it was quite cold and we were looking for a place to have some hot food. When we sat down, the waiter asked us if we wanted a cup of hot tea, which made me feel very heartwarming☺️. We ordered crispy rice, Japanese soda, Miso Soup, and Naruto rolls. They tasted great🌟 and the prices were very reasonable. I heard from the waiter that Tataki has been operating in this community for 26 years. I would definitely come back.👍👍

Comment: My mom wanted a low-key birthday dinner celebration and we stumbled upon Tataki on Thurs 9/14 and we enjoyed everything about our time there. The staff was extremely nice and the place was very well kept. I want to specifically point out our water, who doubled as the maitre D - he was great !!! The food tasted very good and fresh and everything came out quickly ! I would HIGHLY suggest trying their gyoza (vegetable & shrimp r the ones we tried) !!!!Im excited to go back :)

Comment: I gave it a try because of good review on food. It only had 2 customers at 7pm on Saturday night. Ordered food fromKitchen( hot cooked), and the sushi roll was kinda cooked. The deep fried chicken was way different than other authentic Japanese restaurants in NYC, the flour is thick, hard and crunchy type, more like deep fried Chinese chicken. It wasn’t juicy, tasted good along with the tonkatsu sauce.However, the price is very reasonable.The service is good, the waiter was so polite and explain all the questions that I concern. They speak Chinese too. They have Alcoholic drink, from beer to cocktails. They have many take out orders customers.

Comment: Not very crowded place usually and the inside is a little bit classic old style, not fancy, but the food, the service and the price for this location is excellent.The have a Lunch Bento box menu until 4pm ranging around $12-$14 depending on the options, that has very good quality and is big enough, with a delicious Miso Soup included.

Comment: I ordered pad thai and this is the first time I didn’t like my pad thai, was so dry and there’s something lacking I could not tell. Even the salmon teriyaki which my husband had, he said was only average for him.*update*My husband and I gave this a second chance, we dined and we ordered rolls and sime appetizer - they were really good! But the ramen my husband doesn’t like it much but It was okay to me.

Comment: I dont often write reviews for places but this place made my day. Staff was friendly before even walking in the door, they were extremely patient and never hovered over us. After we finished our meal, we kept chatting for almost an hour and not once was a bill rushed over, the server simply continued to refill our water and let us continue which isnt usually the case in NYC restaurants.The sushi is great, especially the eel and extremely fairly priced, costing around $35 for 4 rolls which was plenty. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming so Im pretty excited to try more the next time I visit. Definitely adding this to my short list of go-to spots.

Comment: Excellent service. After I received my meal, I noticed something I was allergic to that I hadn’t seen on the plate’s menu description. They replaced everything I was allergic to for free. Food was delicious. Excellent roll, excellent tempura. They do fish better than poultry though, so get their sushi before you get their chicken :)

Comment: This was the only spot in the area open between 4-5pm so I was surprised to see it so empty but I am so glad we gave it a shot!! Everything was absolutely delicious!! We had Gyoza, sake, fried duck, and a chicken teriyaki bento box. 10/10 recommend, will be back!!

Comment: It is a good, casual Japanese restaurant. The service was good and staff is friendly. Food was good, not too expensive. They have a good selection of drinks.The portions arent too big but they were filling. This place is actually has been here for a while (30 years old). It has some authentic spirit. However they should do some minor renovations, the wooden windows are drafty.

Comment: I’d read the reviews were good, though was stills tiny bit nervous when I saw how quiet they were. I shouldn’t have been! The service was wonderful and the fish was incredibly fresh. Some of the best salmon I’ve had in a while. I also tried the Tokyo roll. It was very different from what I normally order, but I loved it. A++

Comment: I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant when I visited it last weekend. It was super busy but they were quick with their service. The food was incredible! One of the best pad thai Ive had so far. Especially loved their green tea and red bean ice-creams. Great value for money and would 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to try Japanese food in a budget. The ambience isnt the greatest but if great food, great service and great prices are what you care about, this is the place for you!

Comment: Hands down my favourite Japanese resturant, and not only in NYC! Of all time! I have been coming here for three years after discovering it while extremely hungry with a friend. The service and food is incredible, and it’s always the same people. Love the consistency. Sushi is always top notch and everything else is really good too. The tempura is perfect and very light and flaky. So glad that they have stayed opened through COVID! Please support local businesses and eat here, you will not be disappointed!
