Comment: The food was absolutely scrumptious, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. I was even impressed by how tasty the pickles and stir-fried vegetables were! However, after about two hours, the staff started clearing their dishes, which made us feel a bit rushed to finish up. Upon settling the bill and heading out, we sadly discovered that the dessert for the course meal was missing. What a bummer!

Comment: The portion is relatively small however very tasty! Eggplant is very salty so please be careful! The steam sake calm is suuuuuuper good which you definitely should try! The overall price is not cheap, please be careful if you just want to pick a quiet and easy talking place, its to me more like a fine-dining japanese restaurant.

Comment: A short but exceptional sake list, kind staff, and an underground vibe make this a great place for a date. The prefix for 2 was the perfect amount of food for my girlfriend and I to wind up JUST on the cusp of too full. The sakes of the house are funky but excellent, and the food was very solid (but not life changing).

Comment: I had a great time here; service and food were awesome! Our waitress was very friendly and gave us recommendations for food and drinks. All the foods we ordered were tasty. This place is on the $$$ side. Around $200 for 5 dishes and 3 drinks.Addicting cabbage: saffron everywhere haha; I think that’s why it’s $$ haha. 8/10More addicting cucumber: a tiny kick; also lots of saffron haha 7/10Salmon sashimi: 9/10 big chunks of salmon slices. I like.Baked salmon and mushroom: 7/10 it tastes good but I would skip it next time. A bit too salty. Imo; not worth the price.Curry: 7/10 heavy on the sauce; this is filler food for if you’re still hungry. It’s good through.Clams in sake: 9/10 yooo drink the broth. That’s where the $$ is at; it’s very flavorful and good! Also we got the cocktail of the day. I don’t know what it’s called but it was very tasty; I ordered another one!

Fried scallops and tartar sauce were fresh and delicious. Miso mushroom Salmon was amazing. Perfectly cooked meat with a slightly spicy miso glaze and perfectly charred mushrooms. Worth every penny!

It all came out quickly, sometimes a bit too quickly, and yet the place was inviting and we didnt feel rushed. The waitress was very attentive and nice.

Comment: Loved this spot! Amazing cuisine and fantastic service. We went for a birthday dinner and split a ton of dishes. Everyone loved the food - especially the addicting cucumbers and mushroom friend rice. I also recommend the agadashi tofu (prepared vegetarian). When the restaurant team sang happy birthday to our birthday girl, they played happy birthday on the speakers and the whole restaurant joined. It was awesome! Highly recommend for the food, ambience, and fabulous service.

Comment: The alcohol and food prices here are definitely a little higher than your average izakaya and the menu is relatively small but all the food that I tried was fantastic and more than makes up for the price. I do wish the alcohol prices were lower though.Addictive cucumber, chicken nanban, and the mentaiko omelette were the highlights for me. One small complaint is that they didn’t have ponzu for the Katsu and didn’t have the spicy mustard either.

Comment: Good experience based off of vibe and quality of food. The location is simply great, small hole in the wall that feels intimate and cool. Highlights were the Addictive cabbage, salmon sashimi, and beef sukiyaki. I’ve had better agedashi tofu elsewhere as well as fried chicken. One star off because there were no actual meat on skewers which was what I was looking for in an izakaya. Also, I had to change tables twice to accommodate seating arrangements and flow of restaurant. That definitely takes off the experience.

Comment: My husband and I love trying different foods. We lived in Florida, Jersey, Ohio, Philly, and New York. It’s very rare that we find a place that we want to go out of our way to let other people know how good it is. This is definitely one of those places that everybody should try. The service was excellent, the food was incredible ( we got the curry rice with pork ) and it’s very reasonably priced. Thank you so much! We will be back again!

Comment: A good place to go for indie style izakaya food! The service is good. They actually refill your cup in time when there is not much water left. The kitchen is really effective and dishes are served fast.On the food, overall it tastes good, especially the sukiyaki with risotto and fried chicken. But I personally found some dishes are a bit salty, like the additive cabbage salad. Also, although the thick cut salmon sashimi is fresh and tasty, there is a piece with tendon inside.Overall, this is a pretty legit izakaya to go in the city.

Comment: This izakaya is a tiny restaurant in East Village. Reminds me of typical London Asian places where one gets awesome food. I do digress. Excellent food. Fast and friendly service. We tried:- Corn croquettes- Shishotou peppers- Grilled mackerel- Signature chicken nanban. The croquettes were gentle and deliciousThe peppers were amazing. The grilled mackerel was boneless, super flavourful, and just scrumptious. The chicken was incredibly juicy, just wow. They use chicken thighs, they probably brine them; I am not certain how they actually cook it but it tastes amazing. I just wish they served their mayo-like sauce on the side because it is rather overwhelming for this dish. Highly recommend.

Comment: Really tiny place but extremely accommodating. The dishes are tiny, but you’re meant to order plenty, drink some alcohol and have a great time. Everything was super fresh and tasty — the chicken nanban had a great sauce and was crispy. The salmon chunks were big, but fresh and delicious. The beef, i forgot which part of the cow it was, was extremely tender and flavorful. Highly recommend.

Comment: There are basically no hints, just one door...It’s a store that’s easy to miss as soon as you walk away. The store is very small, with just a few tables. The decoration is very simple. On the wall are their T-shirts and sweatshirts. I asked if the T-shirts were 30 or 35 each. I couldn’t remember. Most of the employees in the store are JapaneseSalmon sashimi slices...I think they should be called sashimi pieces. Its not an exaggeration at all. Its very big and fresh, but its a bit hard to eat because its so big...Ill eat it twice...😂Eggs and sukiyaki are averageAnd they don’t charge tips.We left a tip but they rejected it and came specifically to say they wouldnt accept it.Maybe it’s Japanese culture

Comment: - Addicting cabbage - salt sesame oil and sesame seeds and a tiny bit of seaweed. Its very tasty indeed- Chicken nanban - not crunchy, but a nice flavor. A bit oily obviously.- Grilled mackerel - meat was juicy, like it was steamed, but skin was crisp; I usually prefer a more dry grilled flavor though- Onigiri - you get 2 and can choose different flavor for each, for salmon it was salmon flakes throughout the rice not just in the center; spicy roe was good- Matcha brulee - very tastyGood serviceIts a small place, reserve ahead if you can

Comment: This has become my favorite restaurant. The addictive cabbage is...addictive. Also they dont take tips, like in Japan. Nice to see a restaurant that can pay their employees a decent salary without having to rely on tips.

Comment: Im very partial to the atmosphere and selection here. For a place with a generic name, this Izakaya leaves a great impression on the palate. Be sure to catch an early reservation, popular items such as the addictive cabbage sometimes sell out!
