Comment: A jewel box sushi place. Amazing, fresh fish and thoughtful presentation. The crispy rice starter was unique and good. One server for all seats so some patience is in order. Great discovery on a rainy day after touring the Met.

Comment: Ate here on a Friday night and the fish is very fresh and delicious. Nice to have a quality sushi spot so close to the park that you don’t need to reserve way in advance for. Service is also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Comment: The Miso (small cup) soup here is hot and delicious!!! Edamame beans?; fresh and lightly seasoned with salt, Mmmmm, yes. Eat outside if you can. I ate vegetable sushi. The service is 100%. So nice.Remember this: They do NOT serve cooked (entrees)food in this establishment. Visit here and take in the scenery of beautiful NYC and it’s people.

Comment: Came here for a quick lunch. Service was great! The menu is small but has everything you would need for a sushi restaurant! The edamame, miso soup, and spicy tune roll were amazing! The sake was super delicious too! I would definitely recommend coming here!

Comment: A great new addition to the Lenox Hill neighborhood, this is the second omakase-level sushi restaurant to open here recently (following Hiramasa at 94th and Madison). Note that this is not just a typical local sushi bar; it is a high-end, gourmet experience, so be prepared for the attendant quality, pricing, and wine list. Tokugawa is small but elegant, with a large wait staff and multiple sushi chefs behind the counter. If you are a real sushi lover, you definitely owe it to yourself to give it a try. But if you’re just looking for a quick, cheap, assorted sushi to go, this might not be the right match for you (as apparently it wasn’t for a couple of other reviewers here).

Comment: First time visiting New York, walked past this place and something told me to try it out - I was not disappointed! Having no expectations I started off with a Miso soup which was just right for my taste, then I tried the Tokugawa Omakase, the Chef’s choice and it was spectacular. The chef explained each piece and every one was better than the next, I can particularly recommend the scallop - unbelievable. If I could rate this more than 5 stars I would - highly recommended for sushi lovers!

Comment: After our favorite sushi restaurant in the city closed we have been on the hunt for our new go to and this one happened to be right in our own backyard! The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, the nigiri was like butter and the rolls were perfect! We love to sit at the sushi bar and their bar is perfect - it’s such an intimate space which makes it even better! The staff is wonderful too, every single one of them. We can’t wait to make this our regular spot!

Comment: Just had dinner at the bar of this new addition to the Upper East Side. The sushi and rolls were outstandingly delicious. They were fresh and the sushi chef was smart, informative and excellent at his job. This intimate restaurant is perfect for date night and there are few tables that can seat 8 people if pushed together and one table for four in case you want to bring your kids. Not cheap but worth every penny!
