The tofu was a little mushy and fried squid legs cold. The sashimi was average. The tuna roll was very good. We sat at the sake bar on the side and it was a very nice laid back setting. I would go back.

Comment: Got take-out since its a quick trip on E 45th during this time of COVID-19. Had the two roll combo (lobster salad + tuna avocado w/ 7 spice) and the buta yakuniku pork lunch. Staff was super friendly when it came to the pickup and were wearing masks... New standards for restaurants I guess.Had some initial apprehension about the tuna (to be fair, wasnt even sure about fresh fish deliveries during this time) but both rolls were super tasty. Id imagine dining in would be even more pleasant in terms of presentation etc.The buta yakuniku was also delicious. Light, with a super crisp texture on the broccoli that gives a great mouth feel. Their miso soup that accompanies it has a deeper bonito/fish taste than most restaurants in the same price range. Really enjoyed it!!!Definitely looking forward to trying this place in person if we ever get through this...

I ordered from their daily special menu and got the Tuesday special (Chirashi, an assortment of chefs choice Sashimi over a bed of sushi rice, highly recommend!). I think it is a good idea to always start with the daily special menu as they update it often and full of (good) surprises! You could always go back to the regular lunch menu if nothing interests you. Lunch special came with a miso soup and salad, within like 7 minutes of ordering! Very impressive with the speed! The Chirashi was beautiful, fresh and delicious! Great value for the price, $20? I had cuts from yellowtail, flute, tuna, salmon, scallops and one other unknown but delicious fish... Staff refilled my tea promptly through out lunch, didnt feel rushed at all, had a good conversation with my friend and managed to leave under an hour! Will definitely come back for other weekdays specials!

Comment: This is my favorite sushi restaurant in NYC so far, in terms of both value and all around variety. They have everything from a weekend lunch menu with cheaper options to a mid-level edomae nigiri option (basically a chefs choice of edomae-style nigiri) and of course a top flight omakase. The non-sushi stuff is also excellent, from the Tokyo chicken to beef tongue, Ive never had anything disappointing. They also have a decent sake selection, from good cheaper options to the more expensive fancier ones. Note that my experience is based primarily on the appetizers and nigiri; the only rolls Ive tried are the ones that come with the edomae nigiri menu (I usually get blue fin tuna or spicy salmon avocado, both are good).

Comment: Used to come here regularly for lunch. The lunch combos are excellent and the portions very generous. The different rolls are quite imaginative and come with miso soup and a salad. I tried some other lunch specials which werent as tasty as the roll combos but still very good value and the quality of the fish is always high.

Comment: Great place for the lunch specials! Can get pretty packed around noon though. We always get the Tsushima Chirashi which comes with a ton of rice so youre guranteed to be full.They do take out too in case you want Togo that route.

Comment: Love this place for Lunch. Really tasty lunch specials. Fish is always super fresh. Service is always very quick. It does get a little noisy but I am a loud talker and a good listener so I dont mind. I typically opt for the daily special - Tuesdays Chirashi bowl is definitely my favorite! Tons of fish for $20 - cant beat it in midtown.

Comment: Fresh sushi with amazing options. Owned by sushi chef himself who is from Japan. Sushi bar is for omakase only and they accept both Japanese and other customers.Staff is wonderful and helpful and they make you feel at home and comfortable.The cost for what you get is very fair if not the best Ive found.They have an amazing whiskey, sake and wine list.

Comment: AMAZING!We were worn out by a day of walking through the city and were in the mood for sushi and found this place. Gracious staff, beautiful decor, and well-maintained bathrooms (with those fancy Japanese toilets).And the food!The three of us each got the sampler with comes with three entrees, a sushi roll, tempura, soup, and salad. Decadent, melt-in-your-mouth sushi, tender tofu, and delicious tempura.I 100% recommend coming here for dinner!

Comment: I had a very enjoyable meal here.I had an eel avocado roll, a spicy salmon avocado roll, 8 pieces of sushi and chirasi. The rolls were particularly good. The chirashi was a little bit weird. The pieces were very diced up. I prefer bigger pieces. I had been to their old location and wasnt super impressed, but liked this place a lot and would definitely come back.
