The service is very prompt, even when ordering for the 2nd and 3rd time. Most places that will make you wait for the 2nd serving.The food was delicious. Comment: Umatilla has a great buffet concept. They sit you down with an iPad and you order unlimited items from appetizer to desert. Whats really great is that everything comes out fresh and piping hot because its cooked to order. The sushi is rolled to order so there are no stale buffet items. They will charge you if you over order and dont eat it but just go slow, you can keep ordering till your full. Definitely will come back and bring my friends and family.

Comment: Me and my best friend went there before the final junior varsity girls soccer game of the season, she is their coach. You sit down and order from an iPad type tablet. Pictures of all their dishes appear and you tap how many of each you want. It then sends to their kitchen. You can order as much as you want but do not throw any out. You have to eat it all. They offer drinks, we got water to save room for more sushi. I took a photo of her when the first group of sushi rolls came to us. The bill was $47 plus gratuity. It may be a tradition now, we went last year after one of her soccer games.

Comment: This is one of my favorite places to eat on Long Island! The all-you-can-eat sushi is fantastic. The pricing is amazing - around $20 a person for all-you-can-eat during lunch and a bit higher for dinner. You order the sushi on a tablet so it is super convenient and fast. The all-you-can-eat includes all sorts of sushi, sashimi, rolls, appetizers, cooked options, and deserts. I highly recommend Umami Sushi!

Comment: Stumbled across this awesome restaurant on our way back from the Hamptons through Google reviews. Reasonably priced and excellent fresh sush, a rarity. The two brothers at the counter were pretty cool, funny, humble, and inviting! The only problem, if you like all you can eat: DO NOT!!! order the volcano roll. It will take up 95% of your stomach space, and then you have to pay the leftover surcharge, lol. The only other drawback was that they wanted to charge us extra for hot tea as it is considered a drink. Come on guys! But, Still worthy of 5 stars

The staff is very friendly and they always give good company. The service is always quick. I usually come here with my cousins and friends. At times it’s best that you make reservations because sometimes they’re extremely busy. Overall this place has a great atmosphere and a good vibe. Not a lot of places have that. In terms of ordering you can never go wrong with shrimp tempura, tuna roll, edamame’s, wasabi roll. All these items are so good and very filling. I wish we can drink the soups but for us only one is halal and all the other soups have pork broth. We always finish up every item so we don’t have to pay extra. I’m glad they give the tablets because it makes everything so easy. This sushi never disappoints and it’s always fresh and full of flavor. Overall I give this place a 10/10.

We ordered 11 rolls and they were ready for us pretty quickly. One negative is that they only included 2 sets of chopsticks and a very small amount of soy sauce in packets, without cups for it. Its good that we had additional chopsticks, soy sauce, and vessels for it at home, otherwise the experience would be less pleasant. Price wise theyre a bit on the expensive side. Comment: Website is all but useless. They have their hours listed but, not when lunch ends and dinner service (higher price for AYCE) begins. Dinner is 50% more than lunch but, theres nothing which lists whats included with dinner versus the lunch menu. Unfortunately, theres no physical menu of which to post a photo for comparison. They use a digital menu & ordering system where each table is given an iPad. Their app works like online shopping. You add whatever food or drinks you want to the cart, then hit send to notify the kitchen and your server. You can even request the server to come to your table, as well as get the check. Too bad you cant also pay through the iPad, still using the common plastic bifold. If they could only address one complaint, it would be to clearly indicate the differences between the lunch and dinner menus. Thatd up my review to 5 stars. Dont forget to try their green tea. Its so good, I sometimes want to visit just for that hot tea. Not only is it served in a larger tumbler rather than a small teacup but, its bottomless so you only pay once. Refills are requested through the app, too. The food is great, especially the sashimi. Very fresh.

And I have high blood pressure so I stick to umami . Also umami has better rice and they have the high tech iPad menu so you don’t have to write stuff down like you do at Kira . Also Kira takes way way to long to deliver your food but this place umami delivers food super fast and they don’t harass you over not eating the rest of your food they charge a fair price if you don’t finish eating it’s like 8 to ten bucks for what’s left over so long as it’s not a ton of food . That’s a fair price because I like to take home leftovers to family . I love the green tea ice cream try it . I love the green tea matcha 🍵 they have I drink it when I’m eating it’s like got a crisp taste to it unlike tea bags deff a higher quality . I really love the fresh taste of the food . I also love the way you can eat whatever on the all you can eat menu not just sushi 🍣 but chicken and all sorts of stuff ... they have a wide variety of alchohol and they accommodate large parties this place is going to put others out of business because simply nobody can compare . It’s great for dates the workers are awesome and friendly... they don’t hover over your table but at the same time they do their job . The place is very clean they even keep the bathrooms perfectly clean with an air freshener . I see the workers washing their hands 🙌🏽... I’m very hard to please when it comes to restaurants but every time I go to this place I’m happy . I never feel sick after eating like I do with some places . This place is amazing . Try the California roles and pretty much and sushi that has shrimp the tempura is to die for. I also love the soup ... the only down side is sometimes the soup is a little cold not sure why but they have to fix that . Other than that best place

Comment: This is the one and only all you can eat sushi place you need in your life! Umami is amazing! There are so many menu options: appetizers (get the jalapeno bombers), salads, soups, noodles, sashimi, traditional rolls, specialty rolls, meat entrees, and dessert....all included with the all you can eat price! Not only is the food incredible, but the service is even better - they dont take forever to bring out each dish and your order is done on a tablet so it immediately goes to the kitchen. My husband and I are so thankful we only live 15 min away, but wed drive an hour to get here tbh...one of our favorite date night spots!

After you send your order, someone comes and brings it out, while eating you can order more so by the time your done the next thing comes out. Beautiful decor, professional staff, a HUGE all you can eat sushi and sashimi menu, along with tons of great appetizers.... an amazing iPad based ordering system so you finally get all that you order (that other all you can eat sushi place in Centereach has never mastered that)... theres absolutely nothing to not like about this place. The sushi and sashimi is ice cold (as it should be), and everything is beautifully plated.Its a bit pricey (like $21 per person) but well, well worth it. Full bar. And very small dessert menu, but I dont come here for that, so I can deal with it.Bring your date, bring your kids (they have wings and nuggets and such for your picky eaters) and a full Chinese menu (General Tsos, Sesame Chicken, shrimp, etc etc).Cant say enough good things. One of the best eating experiences Ive had in a long, long time. Come now!

Comment: You absolutely cannot beat this all you can eat lunch price at $16.99 per person Monday - Friday, on the weekends it is $26.99 all day. The food itself wasnt bad, they have a large variety of foods to choose from including kitchen foods as well as sushi. I have been here twice in the last month and have had pleasant experiences both times. The highlight of this place for me would have to be that the ordering is on an IPAD which makes it much quicker and efficient. They have pictures and descriptions of every single item so there really isnt any miscommunication with regards to what you are ordering. My complaint is that you can only get up to 10 pieces of sashimi at a time until an error code pops up saying you have reached your limit. You can ignore it and keep adding but it pops up every time that you add another sashimi item to your order even if it is not even the same item. I really like how they have a lot more option for dessert than your typical all you can eat place including japanese cake, peaches and chocolate mouse along with the classic ice creams. Every time that we got our order we would just order another 10, it was a bit annoying but we still got our food. I will definitely come back for their lunch special but probably not for dinner due to the price.

Comment: Great food and friendly staff. Went here with my whole family large group of over 10 people. Anyone who left a bad review here is a real pain in the butt type who like to criticize. Food came in a fair amount of time considering it’s sushi and takes time to prepare. Was really busy too and give them credit for bringing it all out nicely prepared and fresh. Give the people a chance everyone who left 1 star. There are other people in the restaurant and the world does not revolve around you. Every waiter was friendly and nice. Sashimi was really fresh and nicely cut plus you can order as much as you want. I started with one but then ordered 10 more. They refunded me for a plum wine because I didn’t like it and gave me a hot sake on the house. Large portions and great atmosphere. My 4 year old ate something spicy by accident and the waiter ran to get some water was back in like 5 seconds thanks. We ordered so much food over 90 selections. We ordered all different food in all random orders and everything came out as ordered. I seen some people complain about order of food coming out. It comes out in the order you select I wouldn’t expect an all you can eat to serve you in courses when everyone is ordering different things. If you want food in a particular order then order it in that order. I seen some 1 star reviews and instantly thought these people were well uptight uppity types. We were seated next to one group that kept on eyeballing my small kids like they didn’t want us there but they couldn’t dampen our time. We all had a great time and enjoyed the food. Ate until I was ready to explode. Cheesecake was good and a real surprise at an all you can eat considering the price of cheesecake. Will definitely come back and think all the people that left 1 star reviews should try and work there for a day and perform at that level and pace. Some of them are probably just racists so sad that people have nothing better to do then complain. I have been to other sushi places and was really wowed by this one.

Cold sake offering are over sized if alone and a bit pricey, so you may stick with hot sake. Ibe done the all you can eat option and regular dining. The all you can eat is the way to go if you want variety. And pricing for it anyday of the week matches what they offer. Personally I think they offer too much, but so yummy I dont dare complain. A definite go to for Sushi, chinese, Thai or Asian Fusion. You wont be disappointed.

Comment: Great place for All You Can Eat Sushi and Japanese style food. I worked at a couple of Hibachi/Sushi locations and this place made them seem like McDonalds in comparison. The fish is fresh, the batter for their tempura is incredibly rich and flaky. The fact that you can order Udon, Sushi, Tempura and much more on the AYCE menu is fantastic, and they give you a tablet to order at your leisure instead of waiting. 5/5 Stars, wish I could give more.

The food is incredible, the atmosphere and design is very nice, and everyone that works there is very kind and friendly. Ben and Lynn are amazing people. They always take care of me and my wife every time. They know how to treat people, and we are genuinely always happy to see them both. I have certain dietary restrictions, and they always make sure our orders are correct, and even remember our orders when we call. The food here is really great. Overall, we give this restaurant 5 stars because they deserve nothing but great success. We look forward to continuing to go there for many years to come. Comment: Don’t let the outside of this place fool you from the amazing food, service, and atmosphere inside. Came here with my brother today as we were craving some Asian cuisine all week. We were not disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially when our waiter walked us through on how to order on the iPad (yes, no paper menus!). Ordering from the on-screen menu was seamless and food came out hot and quick. When they say this place is all you can eat, they really do mean that to the fullest extent. 99% of the menu (with the exception of the Japanese sodas and the crab legs) ranging from hot and cold appetizers, a huge variety of sushi, noodles, meats, seafood, etc. are able to be ordered 10, 20, 50, or even 100 times.With that being said, you must be thinking “Well of course, that’s the definition of all you can eat!” but when it comes down to the quality and variety of the food, it is nothing like the generic, cliché buffet food you can get next door that’s been sitting under a hot lamp for who knows how long. Everything we ordered came out from the kitchen hot, fresh, and tasted authentic; a very similar experience to the authentic Asian foods I’ve had in NYC. With that being said, I can confidently say that this is hands down some of the best Asian cuisine you can get in Centereach.Don’t miss this gem!
