Comment: Google maps says that they close at 8:45 but they allow take out after 8:15 only. Normally go with the volcano salmon and the salmon mango with spicy tuna and its always great. The Alaska could be bigger but the sushi is very fresh. I come here all the time. They are very sweet. Parking is easy. Service is amazing. Vibes are nice.

Comment: As an avid NYC Foodie, I’ve went around and tried lots of sushi places; Nothing comes close to Umi Sushi. I’ve been going here since 2016 and they never disappoint. Service is so fast and respectful. Everything is always clean. The energy is beautiful there. The food is always high quality and fresh and I want to emphasize on this because they truly make their sushi with quality. The boss is always a great guy. On top of it all, they always give us a sweet potato roll on the house. I’m thankful for this being one of my goto places. And girlies, there’s even a TJ Maxx right across the street!

Comment: This is my favorite sushi place of all time. The ambiance and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice. The decor and everything about the restaurant looked aesthetically appealing. My favorite rolls were the snow maid and shrimp tempura roll. Waiter was quick and handled every table by himself despite being the only waiter there. Although we ordered a lot of sushi, the total price ended up being pretty affordable for the 3 of us. I’m super excited to come back again.

My favorite is Volcano roll. We got some take outs as well. I have been there few times and every-time I get the same quality of food. Highly recommend Umi Sushi.

Comment: Nice prices. Nice reprieve from closer to the city prices. Spicy mayo was good and the rainbow roll was tasty. Nice full roll and they didnt skimp on the fish toppings. Service was right on it. Sometimes a little too on it. I prefer my waiter to check up every now and again and come with an ask not just be doing stuff but thats small.Id come back!

This is my second time ordering from them, and was again amazed by how fresh their food were! Everything was packaged perfectly no spills. Prices were $2.00 more than the menus posted on Google. After unpacking we realized we got a complimentary roll. Would eat here again.

Comment: I came here because the other sushi shop ( Nikko ) 2 doors down was rude. I came to review their restaurant again and asked why the employees were yelling and she stated “ that’s how we talk” so I came to Umi Sushi instead. There were more people in Umi sushi than their competitor’s ( Nikko Sushi ) next door. A clear sign I was in for a treat. I had the sushi and sashimi combo. The waiter gave me a sample of the sushi called sweet potato mango with sauce and I loved it so much that I had a platter of it to dine in. Everything was fresh, even the soy sauce. And the waiter refilled my glass of water without me asking him to do that. That’s service in my book.I even watched him clean the table after the bus boys clean the table meticulously.the bathroom was clean also. The employees preparing the food all wore gloves and face masks. My bill came out to $33.64, no bad for lunch. Please patronize this place.

Comment: I’ve been coming to Umi Sushi for yearsss and it’s always been a hit. From their food to their pricing, literally everything is perfect. It’s a small restaurant located on Union turnpike, but in an area with parking, and typically not too busy. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve seen orders lined up for pick-up, even throughout the pandemic.I ordered the shrimp shumai and some typical rolls - spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura. I also ordered one special roll - Spicy two in one. Each roll was freshly prepared and filling. The staff is very attentive and gave us a sweet potato roll on the house as well! So sweet of them. I highly recommend this hole in the wall!TIP - this location is near St John’s University, and now that college classes have started, I would recommend making reservations to ensure seating for dinners!

Chicken teriyaki dinner bento box was great. The chicken was a little bit on the crispier side but still good. The hot wings were incredible. Sauce and flavor as well as the wings itself were good. They were very friendly as well when I was picking my order up as well as gave a roll on the house! Highly recommend checking this sushi joint out. Definitely will be returning back!
