Comment: I have passed by this little spot quite a few times, Finally decided to stop in.I was very pleased with the atmosphere! Every aspect; from the music, to the decorations, to the dinner ware. The place is very cute! 🖤 My favorite part Is the window seating. You get to sit on little cushions on the floor like they do in Japan. VERY CLEAN!It felt very real and authentic! I would say that I am an experienced sushi eater... The quality of the fish and ingredients that they use was amazing. I had the sushimi regular with a glass of plum wine. it was so relaxing to just listen to calming music and eat My favorite food.I 100% will be coming back! Great service 🤟🏽🖤

For two people we got a great deal of food for less than $70 during dinner hours. The staff was also very attentive and friendly, which I truly appreciated. We will be visiting again.

Comment: My companion and I have eaten several times in this Japanese restaurant and we will continue with great pleasure.Their menu has a very wide selection and everything I ordered was excellent.Their sushi is original and very tasty, I recommend the “Hungry dragon”. Their ramens are very generous and the prices are very affordable (the lunch box is really not expensive for the quality of the products).Among the many choices of bubble tea, my favorite is the taro one even though they are all excellent.The staff is very welcoming and caring. The setting is very calm and I particularly appreciate the fact of having the choice between different styles of tables: Japanese style (that is to say a coffee table where you can sit on cushions on the floor); tables with sofas; or even tables with regular chairs.

From cut to table is the way you want to eat it but that’s not happening tonight and I gave this spot a try. It’s my first ever order and I absolutely will be back. It’s worth the five star review. I love sushi and am very particular on what I eat. Chef kisses to the staff who ordered prepped and sent out my meal, absolute perfection. I highly recommend the congressman and the black devil roll they were amazing. Well done.

I had a great bowl of miso soup and a variety of sushi and sashimi. This was the first place in the Capital District where I was able to get Unagi in months-- but with the name Unagi Sushi, I would expect them to have it. :) They made a great hand roll and it was everything Id hoped for. I also picked up a piece of abalone sushi on their recommendation that was delicious and served on a plate with a flashing cube that made the presentation very entertaining. Ill definitely be returning

Comment: I used to do dishes here when the place first opened. The place is impeccable, Andy is a great chef with great vision who loves what he does. They put everything they have in their food, it is an art. They buy the freshest most beautiful fish, VERY EXPENSIVE, it threw me when I found out how much a slab of their Tuna cost them. These great people are caring, loving individuals and one of the best employers I ever had, and they treated me very well dispite of our issues we may have had. If anyone visits this great restaurant I promise you you wont be disappointed, I was the dish guy, and I saw first hand the love and care these culinary giants put into their food. Comment: This place has the best quality sushi in a 100 mile radius at least. Ive had sushi in NYC and on the California coast even though this isnt that this is the absolute best in the locale. The head chef Andy Dong has an amazing personality so if you just go to hang out you wont be dissapointed.

Comment: A great, relaxed environment with a variety of different sushi dishes to try. The staff was very accommodating without being pushy or over-bearing, and the food came promptly (most likely due to the fact that no one else was in the restaurant). A great place to visit in downtown Troy if you want sushi, but be wary: Unagi Sushi can be pricey. It is not the type of restaurant where you can drop in, pick up a special, and be full and satisfied. Its a real professional place.

Comment: My omakase was worth every penny spent. The staff was friendly and helped us through some of the more exotic options. Up until that point, Id never had an oyster, but Im disappointed that I had waited so long to try them. Absolutely outstanding. Everything I had was superb. The fried shrimp heads (which... you can eat the whole thing. Yeah.) were a bit overzealous, but even after trying them, I was impressed and happy with everything I ate.I cant whole-heartedly give this place a full five stars, only because of the steep price. The quality was outstanding, and I was moderately full come the end of the meal, but after leaving, I felt like I had missed out on something, especially after seeing another table get an order of rolls that looked fantastic. That may just be my stomach talking, though! Regardless, definitely a place Id like to visit again, and happy to recommend to anyone for a very tasty sushi experience.

Comment: I have no reason to visit any other sushi counter in the capital region. The service is outstanding, worthy of five stars, and hands down some of the most impressive customer care I have encountered in a dining setting, even at five times the cost. I cant imagine a better fit for Troy, in all aspects of the establishment. The sushi chef is a great conversationalist and has his finger on the pulse of the capital region, with am uncanny ability to entertain guests with complete patience and professionalism. There is a serious eye here for the beauty and craft of proper sushi.

Comment: We had a lovely, very quiet server and a nice meal here. It wasnt mind blowing sushi, but it was a nice atmosphere to dine in on our way up to Vermont and the sushi was very fresh. We got 3 specialty rolls to share and the seared tuna appetizer, which was very small but well prepared. They have wine, beer and sake. If you live in the Troy area definitely try it but I dont know if we will go again as people just passing through.

Comment: This is a much needed addition to Troy, and the exemplary service of the staff was refreshing. The sushi chef created a crushed ice display with blinking lights and a heart, (I was there with my boyfriend) and it sat in the middle of our dish with the rolls surrounding - Dynamite & Grinch signatures. The dynamite roll was just that! There is also a seating area in the windows with pillows and a low table for eating in traditional Japanese style.

Comment: Stopped here on a whim during a drive back to NJ from a weekend of skiing in Vermont. A bit pricey for the portion sizes but great experience overall. The quality of the sushi was excellent! Restaurant is very clean and pretty. Wait staff and sushi chef were extremely friendly and accommodating! A+ meal presentation. I would definitely come back here if Im in the area again!

Comment: The sushi at unagi sushi was amazing. Truly second to none in the capital region. It was obvious that they have gone to great trouble to not only get the highest quality fish available, but the pickled ginger and wasabi were also clearly better than what Id normally found in a sushi restaurant. The food was stellar.The prices definitely reflect this effort to serve the best quality ingredients. Food is noticeably more expensive than other area top notch sushi restaurants such as sushi tei or tomo sushi. On top of this, the food also does not come with a soup or salad which is typical of other area restaurants. While thats certainly not a big deal, it helps emphasize the price difference even further.Despite the obviously high quality ingredients, this is not my new favorite for sushi in the area. The decor of the restaurant feels sparse and cheap, which detracts from a luxury experience. I also found the music very distracting with constant drum machine tracks. If I want a top notch sushi experience I would prefer to go to another restaurant, even though the food is almost certainly better here at unagi. Still a good restaurant that easily makes 4 stars, but not quite 5.

Comment: Excellent tasting sushi. I think its the best in the area now. Friendly staff and buzzi NH atmosphere. There is even 2 booths for traditional Japanese floor sitting. You pay a little more but its worth it. The only thing I did not like is the space is small and makes the bar sitting complicated. Also large parties will have trouble sitting as there are no big tables. Ideal for small parties. If the place figures that out Id bump it to 5 stars.
