Comment: Yakitori Torishin is almost as theatrical an experience as going to see a Broadway show! Our friends thought it might be a fun restaurant to dine at after attending our Sunday matinee and I found their a-la carte menu to be a delight in reading of all the different parts of a chicken that could be purchased individually for anywhere from $5 to $8 dollars! I was surprised how reasonable the prices were and how it was possible to enjoy an incredibly unique dining experience for under $70! However, you have to love chicken! One of the highlights for me was their beautiful bathrooms with those very elegant, heated toil!

Comment: Puts all my other 5-star reviews to shame. Exquisite service, atmosphere and the food. OMG, the food. So many skewers of chicken, Wagu beef, pork, veggies. My favorite might have been the grilled Zucchini over a flavored butter sauce. It tasted like a hug from Mom. Perfect.

Comment: One of the best Yakitori places we’ve been to. This is One Michelin star Japanese restaurant that serves traditional charcoal-grilled Yakitori chicken. All the food was very fresh, cooked to perfection and delicious! Start with sake and finish with a green tea ice cream. Definitely going back again soon to try out their many other dishes.

Comment: Yakitori Torinshin was an amazing culinary experience that combined authentic flavors with a traditional Japanese setting. Not only was the A5 grade Wagyu beef amazing but the entire 14 course tasting menu was incredible. I highly recommend visiting Yakitori Torinshin for a great dinner and overall dining experience.

Comment: First time dining at Torishin and it was an absolute blast. The interior is beautifully garnished in wood and the service was top notch. Chef Jackie was incredible and delicately explained the origins of each skewer even though we could tell it was busy. Will definitely come back when we have the chance

Comment: I got a little sick of chicken halfway through, given all the meat skewers are various chicken parts. they were all cooked well but tasted similar in flavor. the best was the soba dish and the rice dishes. they did ask at the beginning if we were okay with organ meat and i said yes but then no organ meats appeared, which confused me. the portions are pretty generous, about 2-3 pieces of meat per skewer with 14-15 courses, so come with an empty stomach.

Comment: Seating is confusing with each section noting different menu options. Omakase is good and worth it but not the extra $30 for a tiny extra meat add option. Qualtiy food and way better than other yakitori places in nyc. Spirit offer is good but lower price = less ounces. Mostly male patrons.

Comment: If money isnt a problem, torishin is a must try spot for yakitori. The food was great. The gizzard was my favorite. The meat was well seasoned. I also ordered the mentai chazuke, and it was pretty good. The service was top-notch. When we arrived 30 min early to our reservation, they asked if we wanted to wait at the bar and offered us water (we could have ordered drinks too).I had a reservation issue because of resy programming and another restaurant decision to classify 1pm as dinner. Long story short, I was charged $150 (technically my fault) cancelation fee. The assistant manager couldnt do anything (again since it was user error) but he got his manager to help remove the charge for me.

The chef explained every part of the meal, which included sashimi and duck breast, in addition to select parts of the organic chicken. The service was beyond impeccable and included a choice of sake from the restaurant’s rich collection.Definitely a unique and highly recommended experience that I am eager to have again soon.

Comment: Enjoyed this place a lot. Had the a la carte - didnt think the omakase was worth it for us as we dont fancy organs and other such delicacies. The items we ordered came on time, well cooked, and tasted great. We were also impressed by the service, though the explanations for the menu etc was a bit too long winded.Prices are not cheap, but the quality was good. The space in the restaurant is unique with different levels. Enjoyable experience and would recommend this to anyone.

Comment: Beautiful venue with the most professional and friendly staff. Very attentive and accommodating. The food was so filling and the vibe of the restaurant was so relaxed that I didnt take pictures of their food. I really set myself into a mode of enjoyment and being in the moment there. I enjoyed the company of the chefs and the staff. It felt like I was transported to Japan for a short period of time. The friendliness and the attentiveness was a big part of that. It made me miss Japan and now I wanna go back.Food wise: everything was great and I recommend doing both iberico pork and wagyu. But if you had to choose Id go with the wagyu. For my taste I didnt like the shiso ice cream too much but at that point I was so full I couldnt eat dessert which made me feel bad. But I cant stress enough how overall this restaurant is so great and I would make it a must have part of my trip every time I would be in New York.

Comment: We were impressed with the yakitori, appetizers, and refreshments.Yakitori kashiwa, very fragrant and juicy thigh and breast meat. Appetizers were eel with stamina, Shishito from Kyoto, and sour Spanish mackerel pickled in Nanban. The refreshment was a refreshing summer seasonal spicy daikon radish soba.Everything was delicious.

Comment: Came here to celebrate my birthday! The servers indeed made it extra special by singing :)Just know that this place serves yakitori exclusively. So if you are looking for other types of Japanese food, this would not be the spot for you.Sitting at the counter is the best seat in the house. We opted for the Omakase special ($108 for 14 courses where you can choose either the Wagyu or the Iberico) - it was a great call. The skewers were all very tender, and the ones that surprised me the most were the chicken heart and the crispy skin. We also ordered the meatball (chicken & duck) to try as extra. The service here was top-notch, and everyone made you feel so welcome. The atmosphere felt zen despite how busy the grill station was.

Comment: My husband and I are huge yakitori fans, and have visited a few high quality omakase in both Tokyo and NYC. We went for the private omakase, food is good, but just a little short of being top notch.Like most NYC yakitori, this place mainly serve chicken meat rather than organs like liver, though you are able to order heart and gizzard as add ons. The skewers are tender and juicy, but the salt level is inconsistent, with a few being too salty. The appetizers were surprisingly good, with high-end sushi restaurant level sashimi and grilled fish. Loved the tsukemen, liked the dessert herb sorbet a lot.The counter space is a bit tight for nine people, I had to put my arms down and lean into my husband all the time, so I dont bump into the gentleman next to me. It gets hot towards the end of the courses, as the heat from the grill accumulated in the small room we were in.Service is great, very attentive and professional.

Comment: What a great hidden find, seriously you could walk right past it. When you do find it and walk through those doors, you feel like you enter a portal straight to Japan. As soon as you step in, I felt like it was back in Tokyo. All staff greets you and makes you feel extremely welcome. The dining areas is deceptive spacious and traditional. You can tell the owners and staff take great pride in bringing a small piece of Japan to NYC. One of my favorite meals I had, repeatedly, in Tokyo was the yakitori street food. Most of the time I didnt know exactly what I was eating and I did not care, it was delicious. Torishin brought me back, although do to their very knowledgeable staff I knew exactly what I was eating. I brought my family here during our visit to NYC because we are planning a trip to Japan in the next year. One of their big worries is the food, and will they be able to enjoy it. They both said this was a great experience for them and made them feel much better about eating in Japan. Why do I add this, and why should you care? Because it is a testament to how carefully Torishins staff works to bring you the very best. Everything we had was super delicious and cooked to delicate perfection. They are not just meat skewers, it is very good yakitori. It is an experience and a meal worth every penny. We had the chicken breasts, traditional thighs (highly recommend), potatoes (wife and step-daughter loved these), zucchini, gizzards, chicken meat balls, and maybe a few others. When I come back, I want to try the set meal. This was more about my wife and step-daughter, so we did ala carte which is also a great option. Thank you Torishin for having us and a great meal.

Comment: Did the yakitori omakase. The service was wonderful. The traditional welcome and goodbye, always an expectation that is fulfilled. Here, yes. 🫡The courses were presented and described carefully by the chef or server. 👍🏼 - again, quality. Each was fresh from the grill. They even provided alternates for the pork dishes for my guest, who went with th fish, which I tried and was amazing.Personally, the Wagyu was not my taste. But if you’re into it you’ll likely love it. A bit too rich for me.One thing, is I would have loved a rice dish in there somewhere. I know there’s a sorta soup rice thing, but I was hoping for 🍚.The price was reasonable. Came out to 240 included the 20% tip for 2 people.

Comment: Yakitori Torishins Omakase course was delicious! There were lots of great pieces of chicken and vegetables. The A5 wagyu and Iberico pork were absolutely heavenly! The apps scattered throughout the tasting were okay, nothing to write home about. The staff was very friendly and the chefs behind the counter made sure each piece recieved the proper attention. My main complaint would be the how long it took to get our food. I understand they are cooking the skewers as we eat, but often it would be 10 minutes between skewers.Given the layout of the restaurant, servers were often reaching over us to grab plates from the chefs. There would be a huge build up as the chefs plated something only for us to be disappointed that it was going to another table. Since they didnt follow the order provided on the menu, it was hard to know what to expect. At some points, we worried they had just forgotten about us.

As a note they have 2 seatings for omakase a night due to the fact that they use binchotan charcoal and get it ready for each service.Everything was super delicious. My favorites were the inner thigh, chicken oyster but everything was greatThe chef was a master of his craft and was extremely friendly. He indulged me when i told him about my love of all things chicken and even showed me some of his home cooking pictures. Comment: I chose the table seating but if I have another chance I will definitely be sitting at the omakase counter. Overall the food was amazing. I am not quite sure about the radish sides. They did not taste of any sauce or marinade, just plain raw vegetable. The “oyster” chicken skewer was the best dish of the courses. I really enjoyed all of them though. I do think could be slightly cheaper considering that the main ingredients are chicken.

Comment: We made reservations for dinner and were immediately impressed by the decor, ambiance, and service. The staff was very enthusiastic upon greeting us and seemed to pay attention to every small detail. It was my first time there and husbands second, but staff were very patient and explained the menu and what several items on the table were for.We ordered several skewers, including chicken breast/thigh/gizzard, duck meatball, quail eggs, scallops, and uni dish. Overall, each skewer had its own unique flavors that were enhanced by the char. The scallop dish had excellent flavor but I feel like the scallops texture could have been softer. The broth it was cooked in was delicious and I kept going back to get a spoonful or dip the skewer meat in. The uni was presented nicely but the flavor was lacking and it was a bit disappointing given the price. We shared a yuzu cocktail drink that paired nicely with the entire meal. We ordered the vanilla panna cotta and homemade green tea ice cream. The panna cotta was lacking and the texture was more like custard. The green tea ice cream had a nice flavor and was a refreshing end to the skewers. Overall, the flavors were fine, the service was noteworthy, and it was a nice date night. Definitely trying the omakase counter-sitting next time!

Comment: A very neatly aesthetic yakitori restaurant with great range of dishes. Staff is very helpful and pleasant throughout our omakase with pork / A5 Wagyu. Drinks were also enjoyable and complimented the overall experience. The many chicken pieces were flavorful and fun to eat, though unfortunately a friends Wagyu pieces were overcooked and left much to be desired. I was able to swap a piece of mine for his, so fortunately not all was lost. 7.5/10, only feedback would be to maintain a better consistency before serving.

Comment: Yakitori Torishin, the first NYC based Yakitori restaurant to earn a Michelin star, still serves up excellent skewers despite showing some signs of fatigue concerning its service and decor.Classic skewers like the chicken thigh and skin were readily available and cooked perfectly, however, service was slow and there were a surprising lack of options for additional skewers to supplement the requisite omakase selection. While many of the dishes were cooked well, certain skewers such as the quail egg were overdone, and lacked the precise execution that you would expect at these price points.Overall my dinner at Yakitori Torishin was thoroughly enjoyable. However, if you are looking for the best Yakitori in NYC, Torishin is excellent, but no longer the best option available at this premium price point.

Comment: First of all, before you even start eating, the restaurant itself is beautiful. Theres wood all throughout and as you get to the main kitchen, the charcoal smoke smell becomes apparent. There is even a pretty bamboo outdoor space that you can see. The service is also top notch and very attentive. I had the pleasure of sitting right in front of the grill. Skewers reach your plate from the grill in seconds. In terms of the food, I was very pleased with everything. Theres a lot of care put into everything and I loved the variety of chicken skewers. Everything was grilled excellently with a nice smoky flavor and juicy interior. My favorite skewer was probably the inner thigh with tare. I also enjoyed the wing skin skewer. Zucchini skewer was also fantastic as it was served a yummy mentaiko mayonnaise. I came for the skewers, but was also impressed by the shiso desert and ground chicken don. The ground chicken a very bouncy and inhomogeneous texture that was fantastic. The full meal was great and for

Comment: Really delicious izakaya specializing in chicken. Some of the best Ive had, you can tell how fresh the chicken was and how perfectly cooked it was. The breast was juicy and really complimented by the shiso leaf and pickled plum. Im blanking on the topping for the thigh, but it was some kind of ground pepper. It added a little acidity; fantastic combo. The tofu stick was really surprisingly good. Nice skin. Good seasoning. The only thing I didnt like was the scallop. It seemed overcooked. Also the service was very tight and professional. Excellent.

Comment: Went with the 14 course omakase special, and I felt like overall it was a good way to try a wide variety from the menu, but I wouldnt sell it really hard, because some of the dishes were good but not memorable. I would say that if youre pretty hungry, you can eat all of it. Notable mentions: chicken karaage, grilled and skewered spring onion, all of the skewered chicken was juicy and flavorful, the waygu, and the panna cotta. Service was incredible, the bathroom has a really fancy, heated bidet, and the overall atmosphere was chill and welcoming. I left satisfied and happy so I would say that if you havent checked out this spot, its worth trying out. If I were to visit again, Id probably pick out a few dishes instead of doing the full courses.

Comment: Delicious, a little bit pricey (but its NYC), with lovely, attentive servers and staff. Sitting at the bar made it a little more exciting; it felt like a slice of Japan on 53rd street. I had the omakase—so many courses—but nothing too filling, just a pleasant evening nibbling on perfectly cooked little bites, right through to the delightful dessert (I believe it was Shiso Sorbet).

Comment: Check it out, you’ll be surprised by how much you may actually enjoy it. Sit at the counter for a better experience. The omakase was an enjoyable experience and the full staff were kind and attentive. The yakitori was legit delicious and quite a big difference between what you can get elsewhere. Albeit expensive, I thought the overall experience was worth it.Each piece was tender and juicy, grilled to perfection. The waygu was to die for. Also surprisingly, the shiitake mushroom which I eat often was elevated to a different level here.We also ordered a bottle of sake which I thought was reasonably priced. Desert was simple but well executed. I was afraid I would leave hungry, but do not fret the course will no doubt leave you feeling way full.

Super knowledgeable and cared for every bite. They had A5 wagyu, iberico ham, and cod roe specials which were all amazing. Expensive but worth every penny and deserves its Michelin star. Watch out for the omakase though, the waitress will ask you to pick between 2 special appetizers but be aware they are not part of the omakase. Comment: I visited Yakitori Torishin with one other person for their Limited Chefs Counter experience. We ordered the $180 course and got a cocktail to share. The cocktail was beautifully crafted and delicious. The 14 course menu is a mix if sashimi, yakitori skewers, soups, meats, a rice dish, and dessert. The starting sashimi course was surprisingly fresh and delicious. The service here is amazing with attentive chefs and servers. Everyone was very polite and friendly and made sure everything was to out liking. The atmosphere was calm and intimate - a great date night dinner or an opportunity to reconnect with a loved one over amazing food.Proof of vaccination and photo ID is required to dine in. You must let the restaurant know of any allergies or dietary restrictions ahead of time.

Comment: The Chefs Special Omakase didnt disappoint! We really enjoyed watching the chef prepare every skewer with love. The experience watching the chefs at work adds to the outstanding flavors and delicate textures of each plate. Do NOT skip the Japanese Waygu steak- I cannot express in words how incredibly delicious that plate was, even the potatoes! Portions were a little above average for a tasting menu. We left satisfied, not stuffed and not hungry. I highly recommend sitting at one of the counters (book through resy) to get the full experience. My wife and I sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the staff do their magic in preparing our dishes. Counter seating is only about 10 seats so call and make a reservation. The food was excellent and every dish/skewer had is own unique flair. Our dining session lasted two hours and we enjoyed every minute. We did not order any liquor. Service was also impeccable.

Comment: The experience as a whole was extremely enjoyable. It was also wildly expensive. You are able to add a la carte yakitori to your meal, which a did about 6 extra pieces. The first bites of sashimi are completely underwhelming. And the king crab add-on wasnt worth the $30 supplement. The chicken yakitori was all great though, aside from the liver I added... It was a little too cooked/grainy for my liking. It was fun to try different skins and to get the back cartilage ( a VERY unique texture, and definitely not for everyone). Everything was very well seasoned. Ill be going back, but Ill probably sit in the regular seating area and order a la carte to get a very similar experience without paying nearly as much. Ive been told that some of the regular cooks can be heavy-handed with the seasoning, so if your first pieces are too salty, you can request they tone it down a little. If you ask nicely too, you might be able to order some of the more interesting cuts usually reserved for the omakase counter, depending on the night.

Comment: They breakdown whole chickens into individual parts even more specific than breasts, thighs, and legs. This is done to highlight the unique textures and flavors of each individual piece after they grill them to perfection with basic but slightly different spices. The omakase features the fantastic yakitori skewers. They smartly break up the expert grilling with other dishes from the kitchen such as oyaku-don, sushi, and wagyu beef. Very well thought out omakase. Add a sake to complete your meal.

Chicken of all types was flavorful and juicy (ribs, heart, joint/knuckle, thigh) and good sake selection. As with other diners, I felt the price was slightly high for yakatori; you are paying for the service and the ingredients seemed of high quality. Comment: Stick to the regular yakitori omakase, dont think the select counter (which is superb) is worth the considerable extra cost. The job they do with chicken here is amazing, particularly the main artery and the hearts. Gizzards are nom-worthy too, as are the regular pieces of chicken on the menu. And the SELECT Counter adds in a great oyster, some perfectly fried, very light unagi tempura, and Honshu waygu A5 that are all very good, plus the starter (uni atop roast duck) is mind-blowing.But mind-blowing or not, the price on the Select Counter is too hard to justify to me, particularly when the regular omakase is already so good!

Comment: One of the best Japanese chicken skewer (meat skewers grilled over charcoal fire) places in nyc. One gets to taste various different parts of the chicken if one desires. Quality of meat and prep is definitely wonderful. Its a great place if you like chicken. But...yakitori is really beer and bar food so I find the prices a bit exorbitant. Also more importantly, I like to have other types of meat (beef, squid, and etc).

Comment: 1 Michelin star restaurant. There was a mix up with my order but they made it up. I dont have yakitori a lot so always a treat to eat this. The quality of meat was great. I love the wings and the chicken knee. The chicken meat was great too. They use natural coal (?) to grill the food.

Comment: Had the omakase and it was delicious, skewers tasted amazing and the service was excellent. The pricing is not justified as the food was amazing but not out-of-the-world Michelin star style. Would come again but maybe order from the a-la-carte menu as they seem more justified

Comment: Came with party of 4, had reservations. Seated immediately. Was not crazy the place didnt have good air conditioning. We each got the omakase set and the grilled uni toast appetizer as an add-on which was recommended by our server. The uni app, esp if you like uni is a must get - it was SO good. Prob the best way Ive had uni ever. The grilled skewers were all really good! We didnt think it was THAT much better than a lot of yakitori places (like totto up the street), but the quality is definitely there and we thought the omakase was definitely worth getting. Its not expensive at all and although its all chicken, some of the pieces were so amazingly tender and juicy. The worst dish was easily the filler dish you get at the end with rice. I kind of wish I didnt touch my oyaku don at all. It was too salty and the rice was boring. My friend who got the chazuke was happy with hers though! My biggest complaint the entire night was the incredibly lackluster service. By no means was anyone rude, but omg we had to ask for water 3 times. Our server served us our beers one at a time and took a lot of time in between, going back and forth between the table and wherever the beer was. Each platter of skewers, which you get 3-4 of at a time, took around 30 minutes in between. It was just weird.Id come back though! My faves were the hearts and inner thigh!

Comment: While every skewer was tasty and juicy, each skewer offered similar tastes so it didnt have that surprise factor.I had a hard time understanding my chefs English.Creme Brulee ran out at the end of the night.Service was caring. Seat was a bit small but the place was ambient.Definitely a 4, not a 5.

Comment: Worth every penny. If you are a fan of chicken parts sizzling over a binchotan grill, this is the spot for you. We came here as Part Two of my weekend birthday celebration, and the experience was fantastic. We all went with Chefs Omakase, which includes some appetizers, 10 skewers, a rice dish, and a dessert. At $70/person, I think its a reasonable price tag for so much quality food. You will definitely get full. The first couple of dishes were pickled vegetables, daikon, and some seasonal appetizers. Then came everyones favorite part - the skewers! My favorites were the chicken meatballs, breast with plum and shiso, chicken oysters, and pork belly. For the rice dish, we chose the oyako don (chicken and egg over rice). It was delicious, and I wish I could find something similar back home. Finally for dessert, I went with the crème brûlée trio. All in all, the food was phenomenal and the service was warm and hospitable. It didnt feel stuffy here at all - the perfect place to catch up and celebrate with friends or impress your parents. Not to mention, it does wear a beloved Michelin Star. I would definitely come back for more yakitori!

Comment: Given some yakitori (grill) Japanses restaurant options in New York City, Torishin definitely is one of the very best places to go. Tori literally means Chicken and you can experience variety of traditional Japanese culinary experience here at Torishin. Staff and chefs at the counters are kind and always welcoming. Their sake and Sochu list is good and I always start my omakase with ice cold draft beer. Good place to take your client or loved ones. Highly recommend.

Comment: You could say that this place serves meat and vegetables on sticks... or you could say that this place is an experience and a half. I prefer the latter and its because the service was excellent, the food was delicious, and sitting right up next to the grills and watching the magic happen was... well, magical. If you go, definitely ask for sake recommendations and try as many as you want until you find one to your liking; and definitely ask for the Chicken Oyster.

Comment: It was pleasant experience with having drinks here with my friends. Of course, the food was excellent. Their Yakitori is tender and juicy, which meets even standard in Japan that is Yakitori originally from. Moreover, the service is very attentive. She is very helpful at all the time even she is busy. It deserves you spend.

Comment: This place is just awesome. The waiter was super nice and he remembered me when I went back the second time and greeted me with warm welcome. Very impressive. The yakitori was just perfect, it was very juicy and the spice was also exceptional. Definitely gonna come back.

Comment: The reception was very nice. There was no availability when I called, but she still managed to fit me in. She would speak Japanese to me and then repeat the exact same thing to my friend in English. The only thing I would say, it was expensive for an izakaya

Comment: A unique, off-the-beaten-path dining experience for NYC, which I recommend heartily. Lovely ambiance, decor and service. Very intimate. Delicious and unusual morsels of chicken, delicately (but effectively) seasoned. The $70 omakase provides a wide range of flavors and a nice amount of food. A good deal, in my opinion. Cant wait to come back and try the special, $140 omakase!

Comment: Chefs Table is a memorable life experience! Well worth the cost. Its in a private area that sits no more than 10 (i may be off by a couple) at a time, the chefs are cooking and explaining everything as they are about to make it. Please be open-minded and try all of the meat selections! I do not recommend children attend the chefs table, but i do recommend the regular dining experience for them. FYI: even the restroom is a memorable experience! They have the TOTO toilet.....wow Noise Level: 6 (10 being the loudest) Decor: Expected simplicity Lighting: 4 (10 being the brightest: not so bright, and not too dark) Restroom: 10! An amazing experience in itself!!

Comment: Delicious yakitori - the chicken oysters, tsukune and wings are standouts as is the sobboro rice. Highly recommend the chefs tasting - its expensive but compared to other chefs tastings in the city, at $70 its certainly not the most expensive in the city, especially for the level of service and incredible quality of the food.Huge sake list as well. I recommend getting a bar seat and learning firsthand how much work goes into such a delicious meal.

Comment: The food was good and service was excellent, but I was unimpressed for a Michelin Star restaurant. We ordered the omakase, which included a variety of chicken parts in the form of skewers. Most of the skewers just tasted like juicier chicken thighs, and werent that special. The knee gristle was interesting and my favorite because it was unique, but the other ones werent memorable.Try out the bathroom though; its a Japanese-style heated seats with a bidet.

Comment: Had the tasting menu when I came here. The food was excellent. Everything was cooked just right and the courses had a good flow and finish with rice which was filling in case the appetizers and skewers were not enough.

Comment: I lived next to a yakitori-ya for two years in Kyushu. And I regularly return to Japan for yakitori delights. This year I opted to visit NY to enjoy a week of smoke-free yakitori. I came here with great expectations and a reservation many weeks in advance. I was underwhelmed. I expected the best yakitori experience of my life, but they did not deliver. What I ate was good. But I could not order all yakitori items a la carte. And that was disappointing. I was also surprised that my server, who performed well, was not Japanese. I was expecting a large bill, but did not feel the price or Michelin star was justified.

Comment: One of the most authentic yakitori establishments in NYC. They moved from the east side to a larger space and quality hasnt been sacrificed. Very deserving of its Michelin star. Definitely recommend a seat at the bar for the full experience.

Comment: Had a great dinner here. We had the $75ish omakase and was able to tailor the items that were selected for it to avoid anything we didnt like. Some in my party didnt want any cartilage, so our orders did not include any. Also had a special duck and chicken meatball (tsukune), but have to say that my favorite had to be either the chicken wing or chicken shoulder. Finished the dinner with the roe ochazuke and thought it was a good amount of food. The other two diners were too full to for the last dish but I think it was just the right amount and wasnt sure if I could finish the last dish too. Wine by the glass selection was not big, but then again this is a Japanese restaurant. Good selection of sake.

Comment: I have been to Japan 16 times. I have rarely felt that flavors in the West. Tori Shin is an exception. Very impressive. High prices, but the restaurant has a Michelin star. Second, are not so high for New York, around the city there are restaurants that pretend to be Japanese and cost little less by offering a much lower quality of food.

Comment: From the moment you enter to the moment you leave Tori Shin is all about customer service, the experience and the meal. It is all about the chicken here. The posh interior greets you has you enter the door. The intimate setting is great for a group of four or two. Our table did the Omakase and just let the chef do the picking for us tonight. Everything comes out is well presented. Well, seasoned and delicious. Even though each item looks dainty but it packs a punch. Eating slowly, enjoying, savoring. You think it isn’t filling but it is.If you want less go for the 10 skewer set but you might end up ordering more.Tori Shin is for that fancy night out cause it doesnt come cheap.
