Comment: This is one of the best sushi places Ive ever been to, and you wouldnt guess by its location. Dont let that fool you. I like cooked sushi, but I would trust their raw sushi is just as good. Fresh mango and ingredients. The atmosphere is quiet...it was almost too quiet, but it was a nice change from loud and busy lunch spots. Prices were fair and servings enough. Definitely do again.

The best sushi in town in our opinion. We were interested in sake and Chef Sai brought out all 6 different bottle options for us to choose. We had miso soup, the OMG roll, the VIP roll, the King of Ocean roll, and Tuna and Yellowtail Sashimi. The fish was SO fresh, the rolls were perfectly balanced taste and texture, the presentation was beautiful. You can tell these people really care and are super intentional in what they do - the attention to detail is phenomenal. We also had the fried cheesecake - it was sublime! We have found our new favorite sushi place in Rochester. Can’t wait to come back!

It was a good choice to satisfy my cravings for fish and spice. Service was excellent in SE Asian style. I will definitely come back. The outside of the store was a little dirty (parking lot) but the neighborhood is a little sketchy so no problem here. Overall the food was tasty and service efficient so I would definitely revisit for lunch or get a takeout.

The waitress accidentally rung up an order of shrimp tempura instead of our tempura roll, so she brought it to our table for free. It was amazing! The spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and shrimp tempura rolls were delicious and tasted so fresh. The pickled ginger that came with the sushi tasted so fresh, it was the best ginger we have ever tasted. The chef and the waitress were so helpful and very sweet. They have a very unique dessert roll that I will be trying next time we come, it has cake in it! Any sushi lover in town should try this place!

I loved the touch of having flowers (orchids?) as decoration on the plates. I got sashimi and you can really tell the freshness and quality of fish. The sashimi pieces were generous. The chef noticed that I didnt eat all of the squid and told us next time to tell him I dont like it (just a personal preference) and he would swap for a different item ie octopus, smoked salmon. I thought this was very kind and accommodating. Two of the four in our group are Asian and were very happy with the food. The sushi rolls were also excellent. 90% of the time we go out to eat we get Japanese food and this is now my #1 restaurant. Looking forward to going again soon!

The sushi check Sai, has a very unique touch to his cooking and he is definitely a top tier sushi chef, and not to mention their fried rice is also the best I’ve ever had in my life time. My husband and I love sushi and weve tried several different sushi restaurants around Rochester/Canandaigua/Geneva (and several out of state as well), and this one was excellent. The fish was super fresh, the maki roll choices were creative and beyond delicious, and the restaurant itself was exceedingly clean and very quiet (we were there from 5pm - 6:15pm on a Tuesday night and were shocked at how empty it was). And yes, it undoubtedly was. Chef Sai is quite talented! His take-out brochure cites he has trained in several sushi restaurants -- including Next Door Grill -- before branching out on his own. Every piece of sushi was fresh and made with care and consideration. The Itamae greeted us before and during our meal. The servers were accommodating and kind. Comment: Not just the best sushi place in Rochester......best sushi in the world. I have eaten sushi in many states and numerous countries. Youkoso is hands down the best. Inside is amazingly clean and spotless. Every menu item is so fresh. Very reasonable prices especially with how high quality everything is. Menu offers a lot of variety and all the non sushi items are also delicious. Owners/workers are the kindest people you will ever meet! I usually go a couple times a week and the amazing quality is what you get every single time!For people who think wegmans sushi and california rollin have good sushi.....I can promise you that Youkoso is 1000000x better and its not closeI highly suggest the snow white roll, the coconut roll, and the shrimp fried rice

Comment: So I’ve been eyeing this place for a few weeks now, and have been slowly planning my first visit. Finally, tonight I felt lucky and decided to stop by and visit. Holy mackerel! Officially my new favorite sushi spot. Service was top notch and let’s not forget the sushi - the star of the show. I had encountered this sushi chef at a previous location, and his art is perfection. His sushi is so amazingly fresh. We just moved back from Boston and have been trying to find a place that felt like our favorite sushi spots there and I’m happy to report we found it! Great people, and amazing food. We’ll be back next week.

Comment: I am a big fan of affordable sushi as well as mom and pop shops, this is both. The standard rolls were delicious, not over priced and portions were good sized. We got their specialty roll, the Okinawa, and were very impressed! We usually don’t get specialty rolls but it sounded good and will probably get it again. We also tried their fried cheesecake, a first for me, and we were pleasantly surprised. All in all I think this place is fantastic, It will be cool to see how this place adapts and changes over time.

Comment: This hole in the wall sushi spot is 100% a must visit. The fish was fresh and prepared so well. The rolls were delicious. The staff was so kind and I will absolutely be back when Im in town next.Also, get some deep fried cheese cake. Its so so so good!

Comment: If you love great sushi and other delicious Asian food, this is the place to go. Everything is brand new and clean, the food is fantastic. Think of family restaurant meets Asian fusion. Truly unique in Rochester and the best sushi I have ever had. Youkoso means Welcome in Japanese, and they certainly live up to the name. Highly Recommended!
