Comment: Theres not a ton of options on the island but Zhongzhong is one of the best. Their food taste great, their dumplings are among my favorite in the city. The service can be pretty slow though. When you get overwhelmed with orders, they can be a little disorganized. It seems most people take out but there are a few seats facing the window if you wish you dine in.

I would to go to the restaurant next time to check out the ambience.I ordered the Za Jiang Noodles, spicy wonton in red chili oil (I ordered it extra spicy, which was enough heat but still enjoyable!), and the pork soup dumplings. All were delicious and I would recommend to anyone who’s craving!

Comment: When I came to Roosevelt Island, I looked at Google Maps and it was really delicious. The tomato ham noodles taste similar to budae jjigae and the beef rice bowl is also really delicious. And the portions are plentiful haha. It comes in a generous amount. Recommended restaurant!!

Comment: Very tasty Sichuan style noodle soup, broth with lots of chili oil, quite spicy and numbing. Came with a good amount of beef tripe and tofu skin, perfect for a cold day. Soup dumplings were well cooked and presented, but the wrapper was a bit thick and the taste was not as delicious as most places in Flushing or Chinatown. Overall 4* soup and 2 or 3* dumplings if this were in Flushing. However this is Roosevelt Island, and for me Zhongzhong is far and away the best restaurant in this zip code (with apologies to the Guinness at Granny Annies).

Comment: Not the best example of Chinese food in New York, but a good option if youre looking for a hot bowl of noodles and dumplings in Roosevelt Island.We ordered the Szechuan braised beef noodle soup to share between two people, with a side order of the pork and chive dumplings and the handmade soup dumplings. The noodles were the best dish, with a very flavorful and spicy peppercorn broth and generous serving of beef chunks (although they werent as uniformly tender as I wouldve wanted). Both dumplings were just fine - the handmade soup dumplings were better, although not by much. The skin on both was too thick but sadly typical of dumplings you find in America.

Comment: Take away pea miso noodles and Japanese beef rice bowl.The miscellaneous sauce noodles are spicy, there are a lot of peas, and the noodle body is delicious. The take-out meal is very fast. Pack the noodles and miscellaneous sauce separately so you don’t have to worry about the noodles getting soft.

Comment: Im glad that I discovered this noddle place! Came here few times and I have tried their Pickled cabbage sliced beef noodle ( also tried the fish filet) which both is my favorite, Zha Jiang Noodle and Braised Beef Noodle. All choices are amazing. All taste very similar to bowl of noodles you would have in local restaurants in ChongQing, China. I have been to a lot of noodle places, here definitely is a mush try place if you are craving a hot, sour and spicy noodle! The place is small and clean with few counter seats. Staffs are super nice and they prepared orders quite fast.

So unfortunate that they only do pick up and not delivery.Not sure if it’s because of COVID, but the signage is lacking and the what’s there is kind of confusing. Seems they may have rebranded from Liukoushui to Chongqing Hot Pot Noodles...?BUT, the soup broths are solid and I would definitely recommend! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You can wait outside after you order and they’ll bring it to you outside. Soup and ingredients separately packaged so it’ll travel well if you’re looking to eat by the water or at home!

Comment: Very cute but small noodle place with about 6 counterspace seating overlooking Main Street in Roosevelt Island. You can actually see some (obstructive view) of the water and NYC skyline from the seating area.The staff person behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. She helped answer some of our questions regarding the noodles.We ordered the Braised Beed Noodle and the Pickled Cabbage with Fatty Beef mini hot pot, fish ball skewers and tofu skin skewers.The Fatty Beef mini hot pot had slices of spam, slices of fatty beef, pickled cabbage, bean sprouts and broccoli. It was super-duper spicy even at the mild level, which is what I asked for. I was glad it came with a small bowl of rice which helped with cooling down the heat. The broth is very tasty, and the noodles have a nice chewy texture.The Braised beef noodle had braised beef, bok choy and half a soft-boiled egg. Not as spicy as the fatty beef mini hot pot but still had a nice kick. The braised beef in this dish was divine. So tender and tasty.The fish ball and tofu skin skewers were a nice addition to the bowls. They also had a pear tea drink that was delicious. It was a nice balance to the spicy food and helped to soothe the palate.At the end of the meal, my mouth was numb from all the spice in the noodles but in a nice way.

Comment: Wow! What a great lunch. I was surprised at how good the food here was. I ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings and the Pickled Chili and Sliced Beef Noodles. Both were terrific! I am a bit of a soup dumpling snob and I can safey say that these were terrific! Easily makes the list of my top 5 soup dumplings. The pickled chili noodle bowl was well seasoned, just the right amount of spiciness and was loaded with tons of flavor.The people working there were extremely friendly and polite.I highly recommend this place! I will definitely be back!
